Our possessions arrived, and most arrived unbroken (several pieces did arrive broken; no attention is given to fragile being written on a box, so fragile boxes will be stacked at bottoms of stacks), but after coming to terms and selection of them as the mover there were issues on every step of the move. Original pick-up day was pushed back a day by BQ. Then on the that day the second truck did not come to finish the move as promised. The 2nd truck came the next day, about mid-afternoon, not in the morning. Thus, our original plan for moving out was delayed 2-days by BQ Transport. We were told the same pick-up team would be going with the trucks the long distance to Florida. So, we figured we would tip them, said to be optional, after completion of the move, after the job was done and fairly evaluated by my wife and me. However, the pick-up team's leader was tip-hawking the entire pick-up day. I told him to stop, but he kept harassing. I did not have the cash to tip the 1st day and told him that. I was to be picking up the cash the next day for the COD delivery and tipping at the end, before my leaving for FL. Well, after filling the 1st truck, and telling me the 2nd truck was not coming, he proceeded to get nasty with me about not being tipped that day. I explained everything for the umpteenth time, but the nastiness continued as he left. The 1st language of the team was not English. It was Georgian (Eastern Europe). Thus, there was constant misunderstanding of speech by the team leader of what was being said by me. Worse, they would talk amongst themselves in their native Georgian tongue while helping us. That caused tension and ought not be allowed. When the 2nd truck did come mid-afternoon the next day, it came with the same team leader. He started with nastiness directed at me. He told me they had to hurry, for they had another pick-up job to do after mine! Incredible, really, in that it was BQ that had delayed our move-out 2-days. Then after telling me that they had to hurry, they, as directed by their leader, would not help me finish loading my U-Haul at 1st, as promised. Because they were so late in arriving on the 2nd day, I had done a lot of their work for them already by the time they got there, bringing most of the possessions out from the building into the area to be loaded. My rented U-Haul the 2nd day had to be loaded 1st, for it was the remainder that would be going into their 2nd truck. The team leader actually said to me, you got this, I'll watch. He also said the same about my finishing up in wrapping with bubble wrap and cardboard items that needed wrapping. Rather than helping me at 1st, for which they were paid, he chose to watch, and harass. He went off about the tipping again. I went at him several times in front of his buddies, challenging him right back. Asking him to have his team do the move-out work they were already paid to do ($16,000 at the end inclusive of the tipping I did do). That if they were really in a hurry, that it made sense for him to have his team help me, as promised. We went back and forth in argument over 10-minutes, as I continued to move out on my efforts alone. Finally, he capitulated, and started having his team help. Still, in some of the final wrapping of possessions, he chose to use my materials rather than BQ's! It was outrageous, the behavior, but what can one do? You are trapped in a nightmare at this point. My wife was extremely upset. With great diplomacy and battling skills, I managed to get them going. Watching me running and bounding and carrying with seemingly limitless energy must have been inspiring too, I guess. I could go on for days. Briefly, the delivery end was also a nightmare. The 2nd truck arrived 3-4 days after originally promised, coming on a Monday, into the next work week, affecting my 1st day of work at a new job, and the 1st day had already been pushed back a week because of BQ's original delays, costing me a week of pay! Additionally, the auto transport company called me to tell me they were not going to deliver my car because the broker BQ Transport had not paid them, even though I had paid BQ Transport in entirety for the car's delivery a week before (another $1100 +). It turned out to be just a misunderstanding, the carrier not knowing they were not going to be paid until I endorsed that the car had been delivered, but that communication ought to have been handled the week before, not on the day of, preventing a call to me at the moment of my vehicle's delivery that it was not going to be delivered for lack of payment by BQ! Anthony the sales guy is easy to relate with. Know though that the wants of BQ Transport will come 1st though after you go under contract with them and him. Pick-up and delivery days and times will be altered by them to fit their changing scheduling needs of trucks, teams, and delivery locations with other than exclusive trucks. Some of the workers were good people. Some worked hard. Others were lazy. I expected issues. I had more than expected, including having to challenge them to do the work that we paid $16,000 (over $17,000 when you include the delivery of one of my cars) to have them do. Would I use them again? That is an easy no. I would give them a 3 out of 5 though for the work they did. The protective wrapping skills are high, and some of the workers worked hard and were good people.
