I have had oil service passed from one company to another over the years since moving here in 1982. Approved Oil has been my company for at least 10 years. They've always been reasonably responsive, coming in the middle of the night if necessary to get my heat going. Tonight, however, I called their number and was informed by the operator that they were only an answering service and I should call them first thing in the morning. Their advertising says that you should never worry about heating, to call them if you have an emergency, that they take care of you 24/7/365. Just... not tonight! The answering service said they'd leave a message. I hope to be able to change this, but no matter what it should be possible to get more than "call in the morning" if a company says it's 24/7.
that was a mistake on the part of the billing dept. I said he should
then refund me the difference between that and the correct price. He
said he would do it in the new year. After leaving several messages, I
finally reached him, and he said he would refund me the amount by check
(should have been less than $4 a gallon). We have spent thousands of
dollars with this company. But he gave me his word. When I called him
back three weeks later, he said his owner did not agree. if I came back
to the company, I could have a $100 credit. He said, "Who says what
price is right, anyway?" I said, "You told me what the right price was."
Then he got rude. I never again want to trust that much money and the
heating of my home to such dishonest people.
