This was my third time using them to move and they are really great and quick. I have dogs and cats and they were respectful of staying out of certain rooms so as not to upset our animals. They do a real great job and I will always use them for our moving needs.

This was a long distance move.  I needed the contents of my NYC apartment moved to Cleveland, Ohio.  In Cleveland, I was moving into a (large) house with a relative.  All the items from NYC were going to various places in the house in Cleveland.
I contacted AllStar moving for a quote.  The long distance fee was $3,300 - travel time between the two locations.  (The travel time cost is included in moving cost noted in this review.)  A representative came to my apartment to provide a packing and moving quote to pack goods, put them on the truck and unload the truck at the destination.
The move was excellent.  Between the time of the quote and the move, AllStar Moving was very responsive to answering various questions.  On the day the goods were packed, the staff did an excellent job packing goods, taking excellent care of breakables, labeled each box, asking my input about where the boxes would go at the destination.  Two of the four guys who did the packing / loading phase were in Cleveland to unload the truck.  The contents where going on all three floors, plus basement, of the main house and second floor of a detached garage.
Labeling the boxes was a major help in the unpacking process.  After the move, as I went through boxes, everything arrived safe - nothing was broken.
During both the packing / loading and unpacking phases, the AllStar Moving staff was very helpful and courteous.

Five star job done by group of great people.
We first contacted them and on site visit was done. The next day I received a binding estimate. We had on site estimates by three other companies with all of them providing me with approximate estimate with hourly charges. 2 other companies had estimates much higher than All Star Moving. One other company comparable estimate to All Star Moving but was not a binding estimate. Since I had a limited budget to work with it came down to All Star Moving and the other company. We chose All Star Moving because they had more positive reviews at various sites including Angie's List and also had video clip being on NBC's morning Today show. The cost was about $3,500 plus insurance and wardrobe boxes which came to be about $3,800. We did the packing myself. The old apartment is on the third floor with stairs only. The new place is on the first floor.
Pick up was scheduled on Sunday morning 8am and they arrived right on time. 1 guy stayed on the truck and 3 other guys moved stuff to the truck. They were done by 12:30pm. They were very fast and yet careful. It was amazing.
The delivery was scheduled for the next day on Monday. They arrived at 11am to the new destination with 2 guys. They finished unloading in less than 4 hours, beating the expectation that it would take 6 hours or so. Again, they were very careful with all the stuff.
We are currently in the process of unpacking. Nothing is damaged or missing. The project manager told us that All Star Moving is not affiliated with national moving company and that they do all long distance moves themselves. Once they load up the truck from one client, that truck is not used to load up stuff from another client until the first job is finished. Hence, there is no worry of things getting mixed up between several clients or things getting lost. The bigger moving companies usually consolidate moving load from several clients and hence has chances of things getting lost or mixed up.
We are really happy with All Star Moving and Storage Inc. We highly recommend them.

I can't recommend these guys enough. I was really worried about getting screwed over with a mover who wouldn't be prompt or would underestimate the job and put in hidden costs. There were none. They came in exactly at the quote, and that was with them having to move more stuff then we had originally planned. The crew were not just professional, quick and really good but also really nice. I've moved a couple of times and I would have never thought it could be so painless. Seriously, if you're moving, use these guys. Incredible.

I felt that the information form the initial estimate was completely different. I felt that the movers were taking way too much time to add time to the move. One of the gentlemen was basically not respecting or appreciating and dropped things. Just did not care about the quality of work.The other guy was very meticulous but just very slow. One guy was slow and meticulous and the other just did not care. I just didn't think they were honest with the pricing when discussed on the phone and when the time the payment was to be made.

Great guys. Late but worth it

The truck consisted of only my things so there was no guess work around other peoples furniture, other stops and other delivery dates. They held to the schedule agreed upon and arrived right when they said they would. On this end it was only two men doing the unpacking and furniture moving, Raul and Jeff. Although I had reserved the freight elevator for 6 hours the apartment building give it to another move-in but Raul and Jeff remained calm and did most of the move from a small padded elevator. They were also given poor directions from the doorman about how to reach the loading dock for the building and that lost them an hour or two of valuable time yet -All Star staff remained professional.
All Star staff went beyond the call of duty, I trust them completely and would certainly use them again.
Nothing was broken when unpacked and I have some very old pieces of furniture. The day after the movers left I gently moved a 19th c game table and the entire back leg broke off. Must have been an undetectible hair line crack but the wrapping, lifting, transport and unwrapping may have accelerated the inevitable. So even though the care of the movers did not directly cause this when I called Rich the owner and reported this his reaction was that 'service and satisfaction of the owners is more important and agreed to pay for the repair. How can you go wrong with a company like that? I may just pay the bill myself as it appears to be a simple repair though one which should be undertaken by a professional furniture restorer.

Great job so far. Rodney was very professional on the phone and the movers arrived 5 min early on the scheduled date. They were professional, courteous and respectful. Pricey but worth it. I will update once the furniture comes out of storage in a few weeks.

From start to finish a wonderful experience! I booked my move over the phone, and Rodney was a pleasure to deal with. He answered all my questions, and when my closing got delayed, he held my info until I was ready to move. The 5 man crew showed up right on time, and got right to work. They treated my belongings and my home carefully, and were extremely pleasant and professional. My move took 9 and 1/2 hours, and they wouldn't even take a lunch break! Everything was moved and reassembled in my new home exactly as requested. The crew went above and beyond what I expected and I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone making a move. Moving is very stressful, and this is one part of the move that was completely stress free!

They did an excellent job. They made sure that all my things were wrapped well. They worked very hard and were very nice.

allstar moving and storage in brooklyn, new york is the best of the best. from the day I met these guys, I had a good feeling about the whole process. the owner is very hands, which is great. the customer service is exceptional and very down to earth. I felt like my job was important to them and they really cared about the customer being happy. as for the guys doing the work, what can I say. they went above and beyond. I used another well known new york city mover yrs ago to move me out of city apt into their storage and then down south which went well. they weren't avail for this move to come back from down south to new york and allstar was my no. 2 at that time. well, allstar is certainly my no. 1 now. they exceeded the overall experience I had with the no. 1 company prior. their prices are very reasonable and competitive. their storage facility is perfect and clean. our 1700 sq feet of belongings! were there for several months thru hot and cold temperatures with no problems. to get back to the guys, tim and brandon were the greatest. they really did everything possible to make us feel comfortable handling all our stuff, especially the valuable items we pointed out. the packing job of the kitchen items was so amazing, I couldn't believe it and I am pretty hard to please. all the furniture was very carefully wrapped as well, as I wanted. these guys took our stuff from south carolina back to their storage facility in brooklyn, ny, through a BLIZZARD no less, and everything survived. finally they moved us into our dream home in southampton, ny and I was glad to see the guys again. I certainly requested tim and brandon at the final destination because I wouldn't have it any other way. serious moving and storage should only be this easy for everyone who needs to experience this in their lives. coming from a very needy customer, who is a perfectionist from every angle, these guys deserve 5 - stars for doing a top notch job. All Star is an incredible company. From the moment Richard, the owner, arrived at my apartment to give me an estimate, I could tell that I was going to be in good hands. He was full of advice, regardless of whether I went with his company or not, which I thought was the true sign of a caring and confidant company.
I was given a quote that they were not to exceed on moving day, an option that is often not offered with New York City movers. The price was incredibly fair and competitive, and their professionalism and promptness made it worth every single penny.
Our closing was delayed a few times, and I am not sure what we would have done without All Star's flexibility and accommodations. After learning that we were going to have to find interim housing, they moved all of our belongings into storage at the last minute and rescheduled a new moving day based on what worked best for us. They made an incredibly stressful time in our lives just a little bit easier by eliminating the stress from the move. We knew we were in good hands.
The workers were gracious, fun, and incredibly fast. Our belongings were well taken care of in storage. They were always on time and very communicative, confirming and emailing as changes were put in place. I just can't say enough about this company. If we ever have to move again, I know exactly who I am going to call.

The guys who moved me were awesome! Tim and his team arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently, handled my belongings with care, and got me into my new apartment in just a little bit over the estimated time (which was understandable, because they gave me some last-minute help with packing a few items). They were all very helpful and friendly. I was so impressed, I have recommended All Star (and specifically Tim and his team) to friends who were planning a move. I'd definitely use them again.
