They arrived on time. They offered assistance with moving the furniture out of their work area. The workers made sure to cover the floors and all the furniture before they began their work. The work was completed in two days as predicted. They forgot to include one of the entryways ceilings In the contract. I mentioned this to the worker and after a phone call to Ari they proceeded to do the work. Although I would have liked to see Ari at some point during the insulation process, I believe the work was done well. We will wait for this coming winter to give our final verdict.
Description of Work: They drilled and filled the exterior walls of all three levels of my house. They also drilled and blew cellulose on the roof as well as on the ceiling of the garage, lower level bathroom, boiler room and entryway areas.

The following day I sent thisnote: Vauna, I want to thank you, Ari, and your crew for the work done yesterday at my house in New Rochelle. I am very grateful you were able to fit us in so quickly; scheduling the job when my contractor could meet you while we were away overnight meant that we were able to do everything in one day with minimal disruption. I fully understand how much more difficult it is to do retrofit work than new construction and your crew handled themselves very well, carefully covering the floors with drop cloths and all of our possessions with plastic and cleaning up when they were finished. I thought they were careful and thorough in sealing the rim joist and injecting tripolymer into the walls without insulation. Of course we now have a lot of patching and painting to do, but I believe it was all worthwhile. We will not be certain until it is cold again but I can already feel that the house is less drafty. Three weeks later: The work was done at the end of March and the weather is improving --slowly--so we won't really put the new insulation to the test until next year but it is definitely the case that the HOUSE IS LESS DRAFTY. My 90 year old mother immediately stopped using the space heater that had run continually in her room from September till June.
Description of Work: Our House is 88 years old and was built with very little insulation. The original walls are old fashioned plaster-lathe. Over the years various owners, have done projects that have resulted in a patchwork of insulation solutions in different rooms and parts of the house: loose mineral wool, fiberglass batt, Open cell foam, rigid foam. I have had two blower door tests and consulted numerous insulation contractors, with no good solutions. The last two told me that I just had to live with the draftiness and high heating bills, there was nothing practical to do. Then I read about Tripolymer injection foam. Ari from Air Seal came with a thermal camera to identify which areas needed more insulation and which could be left with what was already done. I appreciated that he told me I would be wasting money to add more foam to the cathedral ceiling. The crew used open cell foam to seal the rim joist by injecting through very small holes about 6" apart in the lower level ceiling throughout the house. The crew then cut 3" holes in each wall about 16" apart (between studs) in the exterior walls of 5 rooms, including a great room, and injected tripolymer foam into each bay and under the floor of two overhanging bay-windows. Because we were living in the house, we had to move a lot of furniture, clothes and books to make room for them to reach the walls to do the work. The crew carefully covered everything with plastic before, and vacuumed the plaster dust after making holes. When they were done they put styrofoam plugs in the holes they had drilled to make the repair work easier and cleaned up the plastic.
