ABRAMOWITZ & COHEN

I experienced very poor service by the accountant and arrogant gate keepers with no personal regard for customer service.  This will be the second year that I am using Abramowitz & Cohen for my taxes as they were referred to me by a colleague.  The first year I filed with them the service was below avg and I felt that it was difficult to get a hold of my accountant.  Every time I called (sometimes twice a day to see if someone a different gatekeeper answered) I would be stopped by the gate keeper who would put me on hold for a few seconds (I assume to ask if my accountant would take the call) and then she would get back on the line and tell me he would call me back.  He will rarely call you back, if ever.  That year my return was filed on 4/17 - the last day.  It was a nail biting experience but I assumed that since my taxes were submitted late by me and complicated it may have taken longer than usual to prepare. This year (my 2012 year tax return) was even worse.  I submitted all my paperwork to him 40 days before the tax deadline.  It was very challenging to get him to speak to me with the results.  The deadline was 2 weeks away and once again I am was unable to get a hold of him after numerous attempts.  To top things off, when I pressed on the gate keeper asking her when the accountant is going to call me back, she literally hung up on me in frustration.  Still no luck and once again I filed my taxes on the last day the IRS allows you to do so with a scrambling effort by the accountant since he wanted my money at the end of it all.  Without a doubt this will
be the last time I am using their services.
My advice: run...run as far away as you can and go elsewhere!  Filing your taxes with this firm is a black hole with no end in sight.
