 + -1 moreThey turned on and off six air conditioning units and then told me that the units had to be taken back to their shop (which has never been an issue before or described over the phone). Then charged me an exorbitant fee for not completely the agreed upon work.

Description of Work: They performed maintenance on my in wall mount air conditioner (15k BTU). They came to the apartment promptly and took the unit to perform maintenance. They returned with it 3 days later and it worked much better. They basically did a cleaning and replaced the freon.

 + -1 moreI made an appointment with Abbey Service because of its good online reviews, and am very glad I did! I will recommend Abbey Service to my building manager. Abbey Service West is much more responsive than the company my building recommends. A knowledgeable operator, Gloria, answers calls and assists with scheduling and answering questions regarding policies and pricings. I never had to leave messages because Gloria connected me to people who could answer my questions. My building requires certificates of insurance, and Abbey Service completed this paperwork promptly. Abbey Service folks are highly professional. You can call the morning of your appointment to get an estimated 2 hour time window. On both occasions, the repairman showed up in that window. The repairman worked quickly and I trusted his advice. My PTAC was the originally installed unit, and the repairman gave me quotes for repair and replacement. When I decided to replace the unit, we discussed what size would be appropriate, and he was very knowledgeable about product features and reliability. The initial visit was on Thursday and by the following Tuesday, another team was in my apartment and replaced the PTAC in 10 minutes. Again, the repair people were prompt, courteous and professional. The process with Abbey Service West could not have been easier. I would highly recommend this company for PTAC repair and maintenance issues.
Description of Work: Called Abbey Service based on excellent reviews on Angies List. I was not disappointed. Examined PTAC air conditioner, provided repair options and estimates on the spot. I chose to replace the unit with Abbey Service.
