Wayne's Lawn and Garden Service

They're always on time. They're work is good. They clean up after they finish. They don't charge very high prices compared to other companies.

I have been using them for at least 10 to 15 years. They are great. He comes when I need him, he does extra things when I ask him to do, and he is here every week. There is at least 3 guys who come out. When they are blowing, they will blow in my neighbors yard, and clean up whatever they may have blown from in here. I don't have much comparison for the price, but I feel their price is excellent. He was here as soon as he could get here for a post storm clean up, and he was here within a day or two. He comes here on his schedule, he comes on Monday if weather is not permitting he will come on Tuesday.

I used to employ a terrific landscaper who decided to discontinue business in NYC and concentrate on Long Island.  I then employed his recommendation, who did a terrible job, so I discontinued his service.  When I retired, I decided to try to do it myself.  Big mistake!
To be honest, I found Wayne in the phone book.  I did see he had a bad review here on Angie's List, but it wasn't from an actual customer, so I took a chance because his business was close to my Throggs Neck home.
I called him, he came to the house, and I got very good vibes from him. He convinced me that I only needed the work every other week, which is true.  We agreed to $36.50 a visit.  My last landscaper charged $25 a week, and if they worked when I was away from the house, I couldn't even tell it was done when I arrived home. 
The only problem I had initially with Wayne was, after we agreed to do business, he didn't show up right away, but several phone calls later, he did show up, very apologetic.  That did worry me at first, but he has been very prompt and punctual since.
Now, about the work.  I have to say I'm very happy about the job they do.  He has at least three young men with him who do the job cleanly and efficiently.  My back yard was a literal jungle, and now it's lovely.  And they so hard working.  The previous landscapers, one was always yapping on his cell phone, leaving his lone co-worker to do the lousy job.  But Wayne's guys are efficient and polite. 
It's only been about 6 weeks, but I am glad I called Wayne.  We have spoken about more extensive yard work after the summer, so I'll be back for updates.

This contractor was servicing my neighbor's yard and decided to trim my expensive shrubs as well. He entered my property without permission and caused extensive damage. He refused to pay for the damage, fix it by replanting or even clean up the mess he made. He and my neighbor have taken the stance of 'oh well they are not dead, so what' Litigation is pending. DO NOT HIRE this contractor if you need a professional for landscaping or yard work. I took them to small claims court, and we are awaiting the decision. The behavior of the service provider in court was horrendous. They are definately not a professional.
