Dennis Walker met with me and took preliminary measurements and drawings to replace a badly deteriorated wooded deck. The deck is in the rear of my townhouse and is approximately 20' X 25'. There is garden space surrounding the perimeter of the deck.
Dennis had a lead carpenter he worked with, Dave Nixon, who was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He led a team of approximately 4 people to complete this project in ~3 weeks (delayed due to weather).
The project consisted of removing and demolishing the existing deck, preparing the surface, and then building a new deck on a new frame. The frame was set on wooden and plastic mounts, and the deck surface was done with Ipe wood, a very hard wood from Brazil that has a reddish color.
The Team arrived on time daily and conducted themselves well. The workmanship was excellent. Very, very good. And they were easy to work with for some minor changes that occurred. I was so pleased with the deck work, that I decided to ask Urban Design to replace the fence as well.
It looks great, and I am very pleased. Dennis Walker was very easy to communicate with via email and provided timely updates (and pictures) when I was out of town. I left the work crew a set of keys to my apartment, and that worked out fine.
So highly recommended.
