Gerry and his crew are great.  They did the job well and on time, filling in and fixing places where the floor had been damaged.  What really impressed my was Gerry's integrity.  I wanted my floor stained, and it is Gerry's opinion that, because of the nature of maple, the result would be splotchy and unattractive, and if I wanted that done, I'd need to find someone else.  I appreciated his willingness to lose the work rather than provide a bad result.

Whatever they promised they did, kept to their word. Completed the job in the time frame they stated and the price they quoted.

Excellent work.  Owner, Gerry Sullivan was extremely helpful in planning and always got back to me in a timely manner to answer any questions/concerns.  Very professional and courteous.  Very prompt response regarding final touch-ups etc.  The job really came out beautifully.

It went quite well. They handled all he necessary paperwork with my building. They we're promotes and courteous. I had used them before for various floor jobs over the years and knew I could rely on them.

They gave me a good estimate. Gerry, the guy I dealt with, showed samples and provided me choices to choose from.  He was honest and said that the other areas of the floor were fine and didn't need to be redone.

Initially Gerry suggested that sanding and refinishing would be enough, but as I had concerns about the unevenness of the kitchen and hallway areas, we decided to replace the flooring in those areas. From my initial contact to the last day, Sullivan's was timely in returning calls, following through with plans, and even came back to apply one more coat of polyurethane after my new tenants thought the finish looked uneven. I appreciated working with everyone at this company, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. I would use them again.

The folks from Sullivan Wood Floors did a first class job.  They refinished (sand, seal, & polyurethane) my 60-year-old, oak, apartment floors in Manhattan. This included removal of some vinyl tile, underlying wood board, and the black sticky stuff that had been used to glue the wood board to the floor.  Also, they had to replace some damaged oak floor boards. In addition, they replaced some missing baseboard and shoe molding. (The landlord had already removed these items BEFORE I moved into the apartment.)
I did chose Sullivan fairly quickly, but after having already contacted maybe 5 other companies.  I made the right choice: my instinct was correct.  Both Gerry Browne (in person) and Angela (over telephone) struck me right away as decent people.
Their estimate was reasonable, and very close to the final invoice.  The only reason that the final invoice amount differed from the estimate was that we couldn't predict what we would find under the vinyl tile, and that was understood by me from the outset.  They did an excellent job, and without looking for ways to drive up the price.
The guys who did the job worked like dogs, really, and finished the job quickly.  They were polite and personable, and I felt safe having them in my apartment.  Also, Gerry did come check on his workers in person, and he responded to my email messages during the job. 
Also, I had no problem getting approval from my building's management company for me to contract with Sullivan do this job.
Finally, I had very little clean up to do after the workers left, and my floors are now beautiful, exactly as old oak flooring should be.

I last used Sullivan's Wood Floors Inc last February. They were very good. They came and showed up when they were suppose to show up and they did a job, they have no complaints. I would highly recommend them.

Very well.  Jerry is terrific and I felt very relaxed that they would do a professional job.  I had used them before for some tile replacement and varnishing.

Our wood floor had been damaged by a leak from another apartment - we had our general contractor come in and attempt to do the job - he did not perform as expected - we were referred to Sullivan Floors by the building's agent - they had done a quote for us the first time around - we should have gone with them then but our general contractor came in with a lower price - well, you get what you pay for. After our general contractor did half the job with much delay we had Sullivan Floors come in - they completed the job (And fixxed another part of the floor where there had been damage) - their price was reasonable and the job was done professionally and on time - no excuses needed!
