 + -1 moreRichard did a great job on my old Wurlitzer spinet piano. He was very friendly and professional. My piano hadn't been tuned for many years and it was painful to listen to, but by the time he was finished it sounded great again! I would highly recommend him.

 + -1 moreRichard Smith arrived on time - ready for business. He examined the instrument and proceeded to give me advice and counsel - explaining and demonstrating how he arrived at his advice - and I knew it was the right. Although the piano had great sentimental value restoring it yet again would have been at best a dicey project. I knew that - having already had it "restored" abroad . He could have strung me along and didn't! Can't ask for more than that - can I? A good and decent craftsman - to be trusted!

Description of Work: Mr. Smith tuned a baby grand piano so badly out-of-tune that most would consider it unplayable. In an hour, he was able to transform it into a lovely sounding instrument at nearly a perfect 440.  + -1 moreMR. Smiith was able to install a heating element that had been used elsewhere, for which he didn't charge. For the past decade he has tuned and adjusted my piano --a Steinway B-Grand. His work has been superb and also very reasonable.

 + -1 moreRichard has tuned my 1924 Steinway M for the past 20+ years and on occasion made additional adjustments as well, all to my complete satisfaction. At this last appointment (1/15/10) because the tuning was only slightly off and adjusting it took relatively little time, Richard, at my request, also pulled out the key block and performed a simple procedure to loosen up the key action, which had stiffened substantially over the past 80+ years. In summary, Richard is a consummate, knowledgeable professional - and a gentleman to boot.
