 + -1 moreRichard arrived 10-15 minutes early to do a preliminary inspection of the building's exterior. Once we began, he very clearly, thoroughly, and quickly discussed his findings as he and I went through the apartment building from basement to roof, and into the particular apartment I was buying. I was very satisfied with his eye for detail and knack for explanation. One of my favorite aspects of his service was that he was open to responding to my questions about the inspection long after it was complete, fielding questions of mine via email and phone over the course of the week after the inspection. I would use him again and recommend him to others. Note: I didn't shop around for prices. His price struck me as reasonable, hence I rated it and quot;goodand quot; rather than and quot;excellentand quot;.
Description of Work: Richard performed an inspection of the building's exterior, basement (in general and specifically the water intake, boilers, and electrical system), the roof, and the interior of the apartment that I was purchasing. He had me accompany him, and discussed his findings as we went through the building, and we sat down to discuss his findings in detail as well. Finally, he furnished a detailed report on his findings.

 + -1 moreRich Perri is terrific. Because he is an engineer, he is able to a**** the building itself, not just the coop apartment, as many other home inspectors I talk to only do. He was thorough, explained his thinking, advised me about possible dangers and repairs and how to assess what the coop was doing about them. He really knows his stuff.
Description of Work: Rich Perri arrived early to look at the outside of the coop building BEFORE our appointment. He did a thorough examination of the basement for structure and water damage, boilers, electrical panels and water supply. He looked at stairwells and the roof. Then he assessed the apartment itself, testing windows, doors, plumbing, heating and electrical. He gave a verbal assessment then and there, along with his checklist, and followed up with a written report.
