She came to check the water and food, and to spend time with the cats (30 min per visit). She even visited on Christmas day! One of our boys is very skittish, but she made him feel very comfortable, and he came out to see her on the first visit, and almost every time after that.
She was the most flexible of the services I contacted (despite how short notice I was), willing to alternate days rather than visit daily, since we put out food and water dispensers when we travel, and just wanted to have an eye on our boys. She left a lovely holiday card and a Christmas gift for our boys. (They loved the ball, and the treats!)
We will certainly be contacting her again if we need a sitter in the future, and recommend her highly. Thanks Jennifer!
"Hello [removed members name] I appreciate the review but I don't think I have taken care of your dogs. I don't have you in my files so I think you might have me confused with another company."
I highly recommend Jennifer. She is professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. I will use her services again in the future.
Jennifer always shows up as promised and everything seems great when we get home. It's a big relief to be able to leave and know that our cat is in such great, caring hands. We will definitely continue to use her services.
We very recently adopted a stray cat and had concerns about what to do with the cat while were were going to be away for 4 days on a pre-planned trip. We looked into the possibility of boarding the cat but had concerns about the stress it would cause the cat being in such a confined space for so long.
Not knowing exactly what to do, and with our planned vacation dates rapidly approaching, we turned to Angie's List. We saw Jennifer's excellent reviews and decided to give her a call. She answered right away, asked some questions and scheduled a convenient time to meet my husband, the cat & I.
Jennifer arrived right on time and immediately struck us both as being responsible, trustworthy, friendly, a professional and serious animal lover. We showed her all of the things she needed see (where the litter box was, where to dispose of litter "debris", food location, toys, etc..). Jennifer even asked about where a vacuum might be in the event the cat tracked litter on the carpet. We were sold and made arrangements for her to visit the cat 1 time a day to feed her, clean her litter box and play with her (if the cat was up to it) for 4 days. Jennifer asked us how we found her and when we told her it was Angie's List, she volunteered that we got a discount for the first visit!
Heading out on our trip, we felt relieved to know our cat was in good hands with Jennifer. As promised, Jennifer came each day to care for our cat. Jennifer kept us posted via text on how each visit went. We were happy to learn that our shy cat was coming around more and more each day to Jennifer. Now, they are buddies!
In addition to taking great care of our cat, Jennifer brought in our mail and newspaper. We also asked her to just do a walkthrough of the house each day to make sure the cat didn't get into anything she shouldn't or break anything which could result in the cat hurting herself.
Any pet owner knows that their pet is part of their family. It is vitally important that that pet get great care when you can't give it to them yourself. As a pet parent herself, Jennifer understands this element of the person/pet relationship. At all times, Jennifer was immediately responsive to any texts we sent with questions, etc... and was really great at keeping us informed. Having Jennifer watch after our cat was very reassuring.
We've already booked Jennifer to check on our cat later this month when we'll be away again. Jennifer is now our official pet sitter and we plan to call her for all future pet sitting needs.
BACKSTORY- found her on Angie's List of course, ratings were good, gave a call, compared her to a few pet care takers both on Angie's and not. Ended up going with Jen due to her enthusiasm, customer service over the phone, and questions that she asked. I got a sense that she truly cares and enjoys what she does. Isis is my new pup with some shyness, and timid issues- "some" is a understatement. She would turn from people, duck, hide, dodge- run if she wasn't on a leash. In steps the Wonderful; Jennifer!!!!!!!!
So, we spoke a few times during the week leading up to the big day that Isis would go with a new stranger. I was very hesitant only because Isis was having some very hard transition issues after leaving the breeder. In the phone conversation, Jenn let me know different things that she would begin to work on and what i could do, to help Isis with her confidence.
Pick up day came Jenn asked if arriving a hour earlier was OK, just so we could speak and I could get any questions out I may have forgotten over the phone. She then loaded Isis up, my pup has extreme motion sickness-not just slobber, but bowel movements as well- Jenn said don't worry about it. i told her, that I did give Isis a pill, couldn't remember the name and she asked if it was cerenia-which it was, the reply was the experienced vet tech in her. She has the perfect puppy mobile, A Jeep. I was able to go to work that weekend with no problem, I honestly believed I left my brand new puppy who is 4months old and only with me for 5days with the most competent, educated, caring, pet sitter in my opinion. I called her that night to check up, and she said Isis was doing great, she did have some bowel movements in the car,but she was able to clean the pup and the car up no problem and that my dog was making new friends with her big pup, a pit bull full of fun. I do think a picture or sent via text or email may have been cool to see the dogs in action, but thats something we will talk about the next time she takes Isis for me. She told me she was working on crate training with Isis, i told her that when i tried it was not working and that Isis was not fond of the crate. Jenn got it to work though, with out a hitch. Currently, using on e now with no problems.
My Isis is also deaf in the right ear so Jenn informed me of various alterations that i should make when dealing with Isis, which i did appreciate being I have never had a dog with any hearing issues. the most important point I pulled along with many others was walking her to my right side so that her good ear was closer to my mouth being unilateral hearing dogs have a harder time differentiating exactly where sound is coming from. "Thank you Jenn" that has made a huge difference.
On Sunday for pick up, I did scan where she lives the area was nice tree lined streets. Arrived at the building Jenn walked Isis out, en-tow with her pit bull, and a yorkie. They were all buddies, and Isis was so happy tail wagging and not stuck underneath her which was always the case and a issue i had with her everyday. Isis made new friends, and had more confidence. The site alone, i knew that I would use Jennifer again. I don't know everything she did, but I know she did alot. We chatted about the doggy crew that was outside with us. She told me Isis did great and gave me techniques for improving our relationship.
I am so happy I researched, and met Jennifer-she made a huge difference. I am in the healthcare field, and Jenn is in the pet care field. She did me a huge service, it was professional, genuine, and effected not only my puppy in a positive way, but my entire family. I was able to pass on key information for us to enhance the way we handle Isis and help transition her into our family in the best possible way.
Jennifer's pricing was reasonable, she even game me 20% off for going through Angie's list as a first time customer. I love a deal, next time I might not get the discount but if the service is the same I can live with that.
Angie's list I many have missed a few details, but the experience was a excellent one. Now if I could only find a barber that is as good.
