Since 1988 Norwegian Wood has provided expert hardwood flooring services to the New York Tri-State area. We work directly with homeowners, renters, designers, architects, management companies and we sub-contract for many of the larger General Contractors in the New York area. Our business has been built almost entirely by word of mouth from hundreds of satisfied customers who are enjoying their beautiful wood floors.

I selected Norwegian Woods after getting 3 estimates, because of the personnel. Everyone was helpful and responsive and positive. the work went exactly as planned, and as outlined on the work schedule which they provided, and the floors are beautiful. I would use them again, and I recommend them unreservedly.

The process was seamless from assessment of the damages, materials, repairs needed, scheduling, and deposits through completion of the job. The demolition team came on the date and time specified and removed all trash efficiently. Then the installation team came in, replacing the sub-flooring and flooring with beautiful, high quality, oak flooring. Everything was fitted and matched expertly. Finally, the finishing crew came in and did an exceptional job of matching the color and sheen of the original flooring. I would dare anyone to be able to tell the difference between the 110 year-old original floor and the repaired areas. When molding was damaged during the repair (unavoidable), Norwegian Wood replaced the molding at no extra cost. The office staff was efficient, professional and pleasant. The estimate was exact. The time line for work and completion was exact. This was a wonderful experience from beginning to end and I would definitely use Norwegian Wood again for my flooring needs.

These guys did a great job on my floor. They were professional and friendly. Work came it perfectly. We are very happy with them and will certainly use them going forward for any repairs that are needed.

We had a three inch difference in the floor, and they leveled that. They were excellent. They were very good. They were very professional and knowledgable. We get a lot compliments on our floors and we would definitely use them again.

It went very well. I called and wanted them to use "green" products. They spent a lot of time working through the options (even doing research) in order to give me the best choices. They were concerned both about quality and the toxicity. They were intelligent and so pleasant.

I have done a lot of renovating and have worked with many sub-contractors. Norwegian Wood is my favorite! I have used them for many years when I need floor work done, and they have never disappointed me. In this case, they came to repair and refinish an old wood floor in an office area. They made special arrangements so that the floor would be finished and dry by the time a new tenant was moving in, and the floor looks absolutely beautiful.

They were very professional and did an excellent job with our floors. I was very impressed with the men who came to our co-op and did the work, they were very friendly and were willing to pull up part of a room when we noticed that one of the floor boards was off color (it was purple).

At the start, they spent a lot of time with me discussing the best approach. When I told them that I basically had no idea what I was doing, they spent a lot of time discussing what options I had, and sent me home with homework! When I told them I wanted to go as "green" as possible, because of sensitivities of my children and myself, they were really helpful. I pushed them to go as green as possible, and they really worked with me. They didn't just give me what I thought I wanted, but took the time to explain what in fact was best for me. They were honest, responsive, and I would definitely use them again.

They did a spectacular job. They matched the color that I wanted exactly. They did a beautiful finish. It was raw wood after someone had rebuilt my entire stair case. They have also completely replaced wood for my floors, stained, and finished them. They are among the best contractors that I have ever had. I have used a lot of contractors because I have done a lot of renovations. They are extremely professional and experienced. They might be a little more expensive, but I thought it was fair because their work is so good. Highly recommend them.

The company was courteous and attentive to my needs and schedule. I was not able to monitor the work beyond the first day to meet the crew and they were in and out is the time agreed upon. My building manager complimented them after they were finished, said there was no smell. My floors looked beautiful when the job was done. I am writing my report now because I want to hire them again.

The job was perfect. It was very well done and the company is oriented to giving high quality customer service. They wrote me emails and we talked on the telephone every time I needed something clarified. They were excellent and very helpful for us. They did a terrific job, did what they said they would do, and did it in a timely manner. They gave me an estimate and held right to it. They cleaned up well when it was all done.

It went well, which can largely be attributed to their great customer service and professionalism. A lot of the credit goes to Zuba, the project manager, who did a fantastic job of managing the project. As I vetted contractors, she was helpful in explaining all the steps necessary and being responsive to all of my questions. She even suggested masonite to put my appliances on and purchasing sliders, since they would be temporarily stored in another room. During the actual work, I was called a week later to choose the stain. The workers did a great job with the floor and also did a good job of not causing any damage to my building or bothering any of my neighbors. Zuba continued to be patient and helpful throughout the entire process and graciously touched up a section of my floor that was scratched by my mover. I would highly recommend Norwegian Wood to friends and relatives. I would also use them again for future work.

Could not have gone better. Referred me to a better supplier than others had done, whose products and knowledge are leagues above any other. Priced the job very reasonably. All the workmen involved were good, pleasant and punctual. My contact Gad and the office staff were realistic, helpful, returned calls promptly and held my hand when I got anxious - and even made me laugh. They even managed to shorten the timetable for me at the last minute as a small gap in their schedule opened up and they moved some of their crews around. Unfortunately I have no more floors to redo otherwise I'd call Gad again.

I have used Norwegian Wood for other floors in my building and have always had great results. I called to schedule the work a week or two in advance, and everything went as planned. Norwegian Wood's management and crew are superb: reliable and professional, highly skilled and experienced. They were courteous and thoughtful, covering walls or cabinets where necessary - and no dust! They were super organized/efficient. The floor turned out beautifully.

They do great work. They are very responsive to questions, they fix problems as they come up, and in our experience they never tried to increase the price. In fact, we requested some changes and still there were no price increases. They are not inexpensive to start with, but they are fair and you will get what is promised at the promised price. Zuba is very, very helpful on the telephone (she helped us clear up a couple questions along the way). It was a pleasure working with this company, and we love our new floors. We highly recommend this company.
