Some weeks after they came and made the repair the same malfunction recurred. We called them back, it took some time to respond and then they wanted to charge all over again. They said the work was only guaranteed 30 days and despite the EXACT same problem recurring they would not respond without recharging (what was not cheap in the first place). I would never recommend or use them again.
Response from MILLWOOD'S APPLIANCE SERVICE INC
"Hello [member name removed], I am sorry that your experience with Millwood's Appliances was not positive. We do try to work with our customers wherever possible and I regret we were not able to come to an arrangement. After being made aware of your experience, I also checked our records and spoke with the various staff members that dealt with your issue. I saw that we repaired two appliances for you in June and that you called us back in November stating you were having the problem again with one of them. We warranty our labor for 90 days rather than 30 you mentioned and this information is also on your copy of the invoice. As this was approximately five months after your first visit, and you wanted us to look at another appliance while we were there, we had to charge another service charge. Again, I apologize that we were not able to help you and I hope you were able to get the issue resolved."

Provider knows how to take an appointment, but not how to keep that appointment. I was generally happy with the work when it did eventually get performed, but the price was certainly higher than it needed to be.
I initially called on a Monday afternoon, and the person on the phone was very responsive. I gave very detailed description of the problem with my dryer and provided all of the requested information (model number, etc.). An appointment was set-up for the following afternoon. Very early on Tuesday morning, I received a phone call to change the appointment because of a clerical error on their end. Fortunately, I was able to accommodate the time change and the repairman came to look at the dryer. After a few minutes, the repairman determined that he would have to get different parts and return the next day to perform the work. So, an appointment time was agreed upon for Wednesday afternoon to return and perform the service.
Very, very early on Wednesday I received a phone call to change the repair time. There was some additional confusion on their end and the time needed to change, otherwise they could not tell me when I could be put back on the schedule. I rearranged my schedule, and the repairman showed up Wednesday morning. After approximately 15 minutes, the repairman determined that he had ordered the wrong parts previously. The repairman claimed he would have to order a different part, and would not be able to return until Friday. So, i capitulated, and agreed upon a window of time for the repairman to return on Friday.
On Thursday afternoon of this week, I called the company and confirmed the appointment for Friday ... because I was skeptical of their ability to keep an appointment given my experience. On Friday morning, I received a phone call claiming that my appointment for that day had to be moved to Monday because their was a "clerical error" on their end. I was not willing to accept this same, lame excuse a 3rd time in the same week and told them to come on Friday or don't bother coming at all. Needless to say, the repairman came on Friday to perform the service.
The work that was performed on Friday did go very well. The repairman was very nice (as he was the 2 previous times he came to the house that week) and he was very professional with his work. Now that the correct part had been ordered and arrived, the total amount of time to perform the repair was about 30-40 minutes.
Upon reviewing the bill for the work performed, I was very disappointed. There was a mark-up on the part of about 25-30% based on the internet research I was able to perform, This was not entirely unreasonable, in my opinion. However, I was very disappointed with the labor charges. The cost of Labor was for over 2 hours worth of work. This seemed egregious given the amount of time work was actually performed, the company's policy to waive an initial service call fee if work is performed, and the fact that the previous appointment/scheduling mishaps were due to company error and servery inconvenienced me for the entire week.
At the end of the appointment, I expressed my displeasure, and was able to negotiate a slight discount on the labor. I also used an Angie's List coupon that was available for this provider to make the overall cost somewhat more palatable.
When all was said and done, I would have a hard time using this provider again. The scheduling problems were a major inconvenience and created unnecessary, and costly disruptions to me. I might not have had such an issue with the price, if the scheduling was so problematic. However, the combination of scheduling miscues and high price left me very dissatisfied.

He determined what the problem was and what the repair cost would be. He actually made the recommendation to not repair and buy a new one.

The person that was sent was on time and professional and more importantly was able to fix the issue the same day and I would recommend Millwood.

Although only one technician specialized in our dishwasher brand, the company was able to schedule an appointment on a timely basis. When we needed to reschedule, we were able to secure another appointment for the following business day. Our repair required 2 visits -- one for diagnosis and one for installation of an out-of-stock part -- but we were quoted a flat fee. Both times, the repairman arrived on time and worked efficiently and neatly. Will definitely use them again!

Service was prompt and professional. Was clear from a diagnostic phone call that they knew what they were talking about for Whirlpool Thin Twin machine and arrived right on time for appointment. Was efficient and helpful. Previous estimate was for $700 and recommended that I buy a new machine. This totaled $150 and made clear I did not need a new machine. Would call on this company again and again.

Everything went well, and they repaired the igniter without any problems. I have been using Millwood's for nearly 6 years now, and they have always done excellent work. Ask for Darren, the owner.

Overall, the work itself was done well...but I was disappointed with the level of communication and also with the final touches on the job...Our 1st appointment was for a Tues. and they came late, after their 4 hour window. They wanted to come Wed. with the part, but I couldn't take off work two days in a row, so I asked for a Thurs. appointment. I called again after they were late and was told that the repairman had a family emergency and couldn't come. I asked for the very first appointment Friday. Sure, they said, and gave me a 3 hour window, 9-12. He wound up coming at 3:00, after many calls to the office. He installed the new hose, but failed to reinstall the vent for the dryer (the whole stacking unit had to be moved for the hose work)...I did this myself, rather than wait for them to do it....

He did the work, so I wrote them a check for $180. When they left, I found that their repair did not work. I contacted them this morning and they told me they'd let him know and he'd give me a call. Since I didn't hear anything back later this afternoon, I contacted them again and they informed me that he was a very busy man.

The repair person came on a Saturday only 90 minutes after I called. He confirmed the stove model number and re-confirmed the address of my house. After arriving, on time, he quickly analyzed the problem and without trying to sell me unneeded parts quoted a price to repair it on the spot. Less than 60 minutes later it was done. As promised.

Repairmen were a bit late due to traffic and were apologetic. Men were clean and very courteous and left job site clean. Real gentlemen. Work was done efficiently. Would recommend this firm to anyone. In addition, prices were very reasonable for this area.

When I called them they gave me a two hour window the same day that someone would come out. The repairman came within the allotted time window and was equipped with the part that needed to be replaced. He was courteous, professional, and was in and out of my home in 45 to 50 minutes.

It went very well. I called the firm and they said a technician was in the area and would be by in a few hours. The technician, Robert, came a few hours later. He was very courteous and restated the terms which I had heard when I first contacted the company, that the basic service call was $80 and that repairs would be additional to that. Once the problem was diagnosed, I bailed out some water, we turned on the power, and the machine worked. Robert closed up the access panels, we settled bill, and that was that. The technician wisely sensed that I had some technical understanding, although I was not able to diagnose the problem on my own. Such customers are often less willing to pay "full freight" and are also willing to participate in the repair. Being able to accommodate such an admittedly less-lucrative customer is good business.

THIS MIXER WAS VERY EXPENSIVE AND I THINK THEY DID A GREAT JOB FIXING IT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT BUT THEY FIGURED IT OUT RIGHT AWAY AND GOT IT FIXED QUICKLY. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THEM.

THIS COMPANY PROVIDED EXCELLENT SERVICE. IT DID NOT TAKE THE REPAIR GUY A LONG TIME TO REPAIR THE REFRIGERATOR. THE REPAIR GUY WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PROFESSIONAL.
