Lotus Flooring

Floors needed to be sanded three times to remove pre-finish on previous floors. Semi gloss finish with light brown stain was applied. Completely transformed the apartment and attention to detail was outstanding. Anthony and team was tremendous and value conscious. I would recommend him to anyone.

Anthony recommended sealer and two coats of stain. At least one quote I had from another flooring service said he would do three coats. but I do not think this is any comment on the quality of Lotus's work. My sense was Lotus did not think I needed three coats, and it would have been more expensive. When we discussed this later he told me he had a client with many kids and he did recommend three coats of polyurethane.
Simply stated, I did not want a high-quality museum level job. I wanted a good job for my home. And Lotus flooring did a very good job.
If you do want a GORGEOUS job, I suggest you tell that to Anthony, and he might recommend more coats of polyurethane or some other ways to make your floor absolutely stunning.
I gave Anthony a B for quality, but that might not be fair. My floors are not gorgeous, but I did not seek that. I sought a competent, honest Company and Lotus is just that.  For me, B quality was just fine.
Anthony is VERY responsible. I gave a B for punctuality only because setting up an appointment for a quote was a bit tricky. I had the sense his father was retiring. His father came to the quote, but Anthony did all the talking. Since Anthony gives all the quotes, it might take a few days for him to come and provide a quote when he has active jobs. BUT when he is DOING YOUR JOB he will be punctual and reliable. Anthony has working on floors for 13 years now.  I should also point out that even during that week or two when it was hard to arrange for Anthony to come to give a quote, he always returned phone calls. (I also think his truck broke down for a couple of days; that may have been a big factor in that delay; and he unexpectedly had to return to complete the job for the customer described below because of a blackout).
BOTTOM LINE. Once he have your quote he will set up your job and get it done reasonably on time. JUST BEWARE! It takes time for each coat to dry! When my floors were done it had been raining excessively and because of all the humidity it took a couple of days for the first coat to dry- so that delayed finishing the job a bit.
I found Anthony/Lotus Flooring on-line. Therefore, I did some pretty thorough checking before I hired him. I called several of his past customers. In summary, I was told that Anthony good, honest and reliable. One customer told me the power went out due to a blackout the day Anthony was working. Anthony waited around for hours in case the power would come back on, but it did not, and he had to come back a different day after power was restored- this was obviously not Anthony's fault- still, he did not charge the customer anything extra to complete the job even though it cost Anthony an extra day.
I also know of two cases, one another customer, one mine, where a small area was not perfectly stained. In both cases, the other customer and me, Anthony returned and re-finished the area in question- no questions asked, no additional charge.
I like Anthony, he is pleasant, he is fair. I think he is completely honest. And I would certainly hire Lotus Flooring (Anthony Mowen) again.

I found Lotus Flooring on Angie's List. But the first time I called, the owner, Anthony Mowen, said he was too busy with too many accounts to work my floors. So I contacted two other companies. One gave me a fair cost estimate and agreed to do the work, but never showed up. The second company gave me a cost estimate that was much too expensive. So after a month, I called Lotus again and this time, they were available. Anthony and his team showed up on time and got right to work. They sanded the floors and put down two coats of polyurethane. They also replaced some wooden floor boards that were badly stained. It took three days of work and another three days for the floors to dry. The floors looks beautiful. Overall, Anthony and his team did a great job and I will hire them again when I'm ready to refinish the upstairs floors

Anthony was extremely professional. He was very punctual and very helpful explaining the different types of stains available. He gave me a great estimate, and completed the job on time. I was completely blown away with how beautiful my floor turned out. I will definitely send more customers his way!!!
