KITCHEN SOLUTIONS

July 2006 I visited "Glen" at Kitchen Solutions; I was admittedly unknowledgble about the process and time to order and install cabinets, but he was extremely arrogant in re-setting my expectations, letting me know that if I wanted a quality job, "we" couldn't rush it and it would take up to 3-5 months. This seemed a little long for my small galley kitchen, but I was not in a great rush, which is a good thing. That discussion was followed by one year of poor service, un-returned calls, feet dragging, etc. The estimate process alone took 2 months after the job was handed off from Glen to "Kevin" who seemed much less experienced, but twice as arrogant about timing, quality, budget, etc. Kitchen was finally measured and cabinets ordered 3 months later. Appliances were also ordered from them after they made it pretty clear that they would make things difficult if I went to local retailers. Cabinets came in around February (7 mos after 1st discussion). My contractor (Kevin could not seem to get along with him) installed in short order and a template was made for countertops. Granite and counters went reasonably quick and I was almost complete by April. The obscenely poor service began at this point: Kevin emphatically encouraged me to go with a creative tile design for back splashes (it did look nice) but after quickly agreeing to it, he could not seem to get the tile ordered. He disappeared on me, did not return calls, "yessed" me effectively for two months until I gave up. He never bothered to call and finish the work after $32,000 (plus $2,500 to my guy to install). The kitchen now looks good, and I am about 95% satisfied, but I can't imagine anyone wanting to work with these people. I am guessing that anyone spending $200,000 or more will be fawned over and get phone calls returned, and I can see them doing good work, but they also made several mistakes and I don't think they can be trusted.
