DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. Why they didn't even have a yelp profile before I added them should be a suspicious red flag. Here's my experience: I ordered the full size Japanese Traditional Shiki Futon (54" x 75" x 6") plus the add on mattress cover. When it arrived I noticed that the cover said it was for a 9" mattress. The order form does not say measurements so it leads the customer to believe that it is made to go with this specific mattress. Just like we don't all walk around in XL shirts, this was an inappropriate item to attempt to sell the customer with said 6" mattress. Then I noticed that the futon looked small and upon measuring it proved to be 52.5" x 72" x 4.5" which makes a big difference when it comes to the comfort of a bed. I wrote to them within an hour of the items arriving. I sent them all requested photos. In fact I spent over 2 weeks with a constant back and forth even taking it to the BBB (please go there to read the exchange I had with Jonah so you will understand the level of contradictions, the dismissiveness and the lack of accountability or willingness to find a mutually agreeable solution.) The facts are the facts. The items sent to me did not meet the specification as advertised on their website and yet he refused to give me a refund AND he gave me a total run around, wasting weeks of my time. Requesting photos that he apparently did nothing with. When I suggested that perhaps it was a mistake and it could be simply fixed by swapping what I had with a futon of the correct measurements I was told "They are all made the same. It will be the same that you already have." And then later he wrote "This mattress seems to have been cut a little shorter than usual." So which is it a mistake that should be fixed or intentional deception? Jonah uses language that is intended to mislead. He wrote on BBB "We offered to take back the mattress and the customer refused." First, I never refused which is evident in the correspondence and second notice that he is not offering a full refund, he is offering to "take back the mattress." What exactly does that mean? I suspect he was trying to charge me a 25% restocking fee. Shameful. It was an extremely frustrating situation and I intend to take them to small claims court. Avoid Avoid Avoid FoldingBed.net. Lesson learned: only buy from companies with consumer reviews and check their customer service. It's actually very sad to see a business owner who cares so little about honesty, decency and reputation. I gave him multiple chances to make it better but he kept digging his heels in. Very unprofessional. Be warned and please ready my BBB review so you can see firsthand documentation of how Jonah and FoldingBed.net treats customers.
