Eye Care - Optometry
The optometry exam was fine. 2 of the 3 pairs of glasses are fine. The third is too short and does not fit comfortably on my ears. THE MAJOR PROBLEM WAS THEIR DISHONESTY ON THE BUSINESS END OF THINGS. I felt I was being swindled. The man behind the counter was a fast talker and I felt pressured into getting expensive glasses when I was there approx 2 weeks ago to have the eye exam and choose the glasses and frames. I have bought several pairs of glasses at their shop over the past 10 or so years and I had a credit on my account. I thought it was for several hundred dollars. When I asked about the credit during the visit 2 weeks ago, the man said there was none. I asked to have the manager (owner?) look over my account because I was sure there was a credit owed to me. When I came to pick up the glasses today, she said there was a credit of a little over $200, but then said the man did not charge me for one of the pairs of glasses when I picked them out 2 weeks ago and so this cancelled out the credit owed to me. When I chose the glasses 2 weeks ago, he said he was throwing in the reading glasses for free. I gave him my insurance information and told him that my insurance would cover the cost of the reading glasses. Today I'm told they charged me $240 for these glasses, and this canceled out the credit on my account. The frames for the glasses I was given for "free" were approximately $60 and this was to be submitted to my insurance. Today, the manager and the male clerk denied saying these would be the glasses covered by my insurance plan. While I was standing at the counter, I overheard another store clerk (a woman) speaking very rudely and disrespectfully to another customer. Overall, I felt they were dishonest and cheated me out of my credit and the glasses that were to be charged to my insurance.
