Amar Construction

Marlin( Almar Construction LTD, owner) is very polite, punctual and clean on his work. The pice he charged me was very reasonable and the work was done in very timely manner. He is very flexible. I highly recommend him to every house and/or business in Greater New York area.

I usually do not write reviews, but this time it is necessary that I write this one. I needed to refinish my vintage wooden dining set and reached out to Angi hoping to find someone that will be good at this craft. On August 27th a guy named Marling from Omar Construction came to see me to give a quote. He looked like he was knowledgeable, gave me a fair price and was ready to start on the project right away. The next day, 8/28th he took the six chairs and told me that he will do them in 4 days. He will bring the chairs and then will do the table. I was ok with that. I told him that I wanted the same color- Natural Cherry. On August 30th he texted me a picture of one of the chairs and a can of paint that said Natural cherry. He sent me samples of other colors and told me that if I wanted another color to let him know and he will change it. Then he sent me a picture of one of the chairs that looked like he had tried the paint on it. I said that color was ok. On September 30th I texted him inquiring about the project. He said that it will be done in 2 or 3 more days and on 9/5th he sent me a picture of all 6 chairs stripped of the paint on top with a text that read exactly like this: â Hey good morning Rafaela Iâ m nite too screwed for the tap please live too my little time I am sending come handing everything. I need to send send that and leg.â That message was hard to understand, but I am a bilingual teacher and used to work with limited second language learners. I was able to decipher what he meant. â He needed more time. He still needed finishing sanding the legs.â I replied that I was going to be out a few days to take his time. I really wanted a good job done and did not want to pressure him with time. He said: Ok, no problem thank you.â On 9/9th he showed up at my house unannounced to bring all the chairs. Some of them still painted wet. I was speechless when I saw what he did to my chairs. They were totally ruined. He did not really sand them well. They feel scratching to the touch. Globs of paint in some parts, other parts were not even painted. All six chairs came out with a different shade because it looks like he put more coats on some of them than the others. He used a shiny coat in some parts of the chairs, other parts left untouched. A total disaster! I couldnâ t believe it, and he has the nerves to tell me , â Mrs. this wood is too bad. I spent $600 dollars in materials and worked until two oâ clock every night, just give $200 and find someone else to do your table.â It seems to me that he never did this kind of work before, and didnâ t have a clue of how to do it. Stay away from this guy, he is a joke! I have pictures from before and after, if anyone is interested in seeing them.

A little on the pricey side but the service was very friendly and prompt. Ceiling fan was installed well. Broken closet door wasnâ t fully fixed but a quick fix made my issue better than it was before he came. He was done with both projects under two hours.
