Overall the work was great. Shane and his crew did an amazing job. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. On time and on budget. And my Basement is water free and I have since finished the basement and using it as a play room for the kids. Great to have the additional living space.

I reached out to Armstrong Waterproofing based on the positive feedback on Angie's list. I needed help to get my room under the garage dryer and also get rid of  dampness/smell in a crawl space. Mr. Shane Armstrong assessed and gave me a list of recommendations most which I decided to go ahead and implement (grading work, wall sealing, Santa fe dehumidifier). His son Mr. Brendon Armstrong coordinated and executed the work with utmost professionalism. Although it is too early to tell the impact in the basement, overall the place feels better than before and the quality of work is good.

Shane was very thoughtful, hard-working and respectful. He did not seem rushed or careless. He made recommendations along the way. His son worked with him at one point. Shane focuses on the job and is thorough.  His price was exactly what he quoted me. I have had questions unrelated to the sump pump since then and Shane has always obliged without ever seeming put out. He has a lot of experience. Prior to hiring Shane, I asked him for references. He supplied an impressive typed list of about 25 references, three of which I called. All three had only good things to say about Shane and recommended him highly.

Overall, I was very pleased with the work. I had streams of water coming in my basement from one or two locations every time it rained, and my basement was very musty. Now my basement has been dry and fresh smelling in spite of several heavy rains since the main waterproofing was complete. Shane and the workers were very friendly and courteous and willing to answer my question - they came in and went right to work. There were a couple of add on costs ( a gravity drainage system was found, so some additional work needed to be done to integrate it), but Shane did his best to keep additional costs to a minimum. My one caveat is that I felt that the paint job they did could have been better. I needed to contact them again to come and fix some patches in the paint, and there was definitely some sloppiness. I had decided to add in the painting, because I had seen the excellent paint job that had been done at my neighbors who had used Armstrong before, so I was a little disappointed. Overall, it looks fine from a distance, but I think, in retrospect I would not have asked them to add in the painting - it was not worth it. There were also some cement splashes on the wall from when they filled in the trench - I mentioned it, and he worked to remove it, so he was responsive. So my grade of the Quality is A+ for the waterproofing, B for the paint job. However, in terms of overall quality for price, I would rate this as a good experience. I would recommend them, as anyone else I have known who has done a thorough waterproofing of this quality has paid $10-14k, for smaller basements and less overall work.

Armstrong Waterproofing said that if I didn't give them cash it would have been $950. Although it was a good job, I was not comfortable with someone who wanted to be paid under the table. I won't be hiring them again.

Armstrong Waterproofing did a good job waterproofing the basement. It is a drier basement. I would refer them to others. I am well satisfied.
