The first repair person told us we needed a whole new system. Called Res-Com for 2nd opinion and they were able to fix furnace that day.

They arrived on time and got right to work. It was a difficult install due to limited space between top of furnace and existing ductwork. They had to do some rather difficult sheet metal work. But they got the job done. Three and a half hours and they were gone. They cleaned up nicely, leaving me nothing to do. Very personable install team that work together like they were old Army buddies. Happy to answer any and all questions. I know I made the right choice hiring them and would highly recommend them to others. Now it's just a question of how the equipment performs and holds up. That has more to do with the manufacturer and product quality than it does with Res-Com. I did my due diligence and America Standard was top-rated, so I am optimistic. I finally have central air!

The technician was very punctual, quick and thorough. He noticed a small problem with the angle of our flue pipe that could cause the furnace to turn off temporarily. He fixed it quickly with minimal extra cost for parts. He willingly provided us with advice on DIY duct sealing, and also provided (unsolicited but welcome) advice about our furnace model and the need to budget for repairs. Apparently we have a very good furnace, but replacement parts are pricey. Not something we were aware of, and great to know - now we can make sure to have an extra emergency fund for future part replacement.
Very basic service, but we would probably use them again.

I had several estimates to remove an old hot water system from an 1830's era farmhouse and replace it with a forced air system -- which required installation of a new furnace and duct work throughout the entire house. These guys gave me the lowest estimate but also seemed the most knowledgeable. They gave me a date they would start the project and they arrived at 8:00 in the morning on that date, no excuses, and got right to work -- even though the temperature that day was well below zero F and there was no heat in the building. They worked diligently for several days and kept me informed of progress. They did some additional unscheduled work at my request; they were very accommodating and extra charges were very reasonable. Everyone from office staff to site workers were friendly and professional and we were very pleased with the result. I would use this company again without hesitation and recommend them highly.

The price to replace was what it cost for both units. We have used window air contidtioners as it was cheaper and then went with another company.

Fantastic service and price on removal of old gas furnace and central AC and installation of new. We got quotes from 4 other services and Res-Com's was the least expensive, including a quote from someone in our own family who has a business installing HVAC equipment. The guy who scoped the job didn't try to upsell us on bigger units, maybe because I did my research on what we needed. Still, the other companies, like the one that sold Carrier equipment, tried to sell me on a unit that was 2X as expensive as anyone elses. Even better, Res-Com installed an American Standard model furnace and AC, both of which score very highly in quality testing, better than models offered by the other companies. So: better equipment, less expensive -- where else do you see this kind of deal in anything? The guy who owns the company helped install the furnace and AC, and he stuck to the quote even though there was a little more work involved than he thought. Later in the winter after the install, the furnace developed a problem. Turned out that they didn't put quite enough of an angle on the furnace exhaust line, allowing water vapor to back up in the system and snuff out the furnace. Res-Com came out immediately and reinstalled the entire exhaust line at no cost.

When I had requested the quote for installation of a new 3 ton central air conditioning unit the Res Com manager came by at the appointed time and gave me a quote that was well below the five quotes that I had already received. He explained the system and how it compared with other systems. It is an American Standard unit. I had already checked the brand on Consumer Reports website and found that American Standard has the highest rating for reliability. So I went with Res Com and set up a date and time frame. The two air conditioning installers arrived when scheduled and were very pleasant and professional. It took them four hours to remove the old system and install the new system and they were minimally invasive of my time. They went over the system with me and cleaned up after themselves. The entire process went very well and the unit is working fine.

I bid out a new furnace and AC install to 4 companies. The prices ranged from 5,800 to 11,000. I didn't go with Res-Com because they were the cheapest. I went with them because they carried the best line of equipment (American Standard), and the salesman/technician who came out to look at the job didn't try to upsell me. I was pretty well informed and could tell he wasn't suggesting anything about the job I didn't need. Nor did he try to cut corners. It was a tricky install because I needed a new exhaust vent line, per the new code, sent to an exterior wall (not the chimney, where the old furnace connected). It wasn't easy, and the technician (think his last name was Bush -- Steve Bush? -- and he might also be the company owner) spent a lot of time trying to figure out how he was going to do it. I wasn't there on the day of the install, but when I saw how they put the unit in and where they ran the vent, I saw that they chose the hardest, most expensive route but didn't charge me extra over and above the original quote. I have family who install HVAC systems in commercial buildings as well as some residential and they couldn't beat his price. Even if they could match it, their equipment, a different line, wasn't as well regarded. We'll see how it holds up through the first winter. Right now the contractors who are working on our house (we're not in it) have been cranking the AC and the AC makes no noise whatsoever.

They come every October and November to do the winter checkup. They have an office number, but they do have a 24 hour emergency number so we can call them if we have any issues with the equipment. They were $1500 cheaper than the other quote that we got at the time we were installing it. They have always been very punctual. Our furnace went out in the middle a couple of years ago when we bought the house and we called them on Wednesday and by Friday they had it installed.
