After speaking and coming out to take measurements, which initially was great, I never heard back from them.

The Contractor of GMN Construction & Contracting LLC, Mr. Robel Nurul, who I hired in 2019 for renovations in my apartment, presented himself as polite and professional. His esthetical choices were excellent. Early this month I had a power outage in part of the kitchen. After trouble shooting by licensed electricians it became apparent that Mr. Nurul had hired an unlicensed electrician who did not abide by NY regulations. Shortly before the trouble shooting I asked Mr. Nurul for the name and license number of the electrician he had subcontracted, in order to help me find the cause of the power outage in the kitchen. Mr. Nurul evaded the question in his usual polite manner and did not give me the information, other than the first name of Luis. Mr. Nurul stated that he now works with a different electrician, whose name and license number he similarly evaded to provide. As a consequence I had to hire a licensed electrician at a high expense to replace the faulty installations and bring them up to NYC law and regulations . Not to mention the risk of fire at my apartment Mr. Nurul allowed and did not inform me of. Yesterday, through no doing of Mr. Nurul's, the shower faucets started to malfunction and need to be replaced. I searched for the valves that shut off the water to the shower and found them behind the cabinet Mr. Nurul had installed beneath the sink. I consented to this cabinet, which makes good use of a small space. While adequate room was left for turning the cold water valve, the hot water valve was partly blocked by insufficient space left between the cabinet and the valve. The cabinet, which is fixed to the sink, cannot be moved without major plumbing work. As a result the water in the building will have to be shut off in order to replace the faucets. The remodeling and painting GMN's worker did is beautiful. That person was lovely, gifted and hard working. I thank him for his efforts. Mr. Nurul is talented and has a great sense of esthetics. Nonetheless he did me a disservice by failing to adequately supervise the work and by arranging for illegal electrical work to be done in my apartment. This hidden dishonesty essentially destroys all excellence of his achievements. I feel I owe the public the sharing of my experience, in order to help future customers make informed decisions when hiring a contractor. Ute Rosa

GMN was in charge of remodeling our apartment. We put in a new kitchen, updated the bathroom, painted one room and refinished the floor of a balcony. In the grand scheme of things, everything went fairly well during the project. It was after the project that Robel, the owner stopped replying

I had GMN renovate my apartment. They installed a brand new kitchen, upgraded the bathroom, painted one room and refinished the balcony bricks. Nobel, the project manager was punctual and very professional. He responded to inquiries quickly. I needed the apartment finished as soon as possible and they stayed on schedule. They did extra work without nickel and diming me. Their pricing is reasonable. Nobel is just a nice guy who goes the extra mile to keep his clients happy. I would definitely hire again.

It was a small, but complicated, job. They were clear about their limitations and the contractor was on site for the majority of the time, supervising the installer to make sure everything was done correctly. They were a pleasure to work with and we would definitely hire them again. The photo shows the job in progress.

GMN construction contact Robel was very prompt in attending to my request. We had a interior paint job request, and he gave the cheapest, more reliable quote. The quality of work really good, I am very pleased with the service in the price that we got it done.
