the installers were reasonably punctual on the date they installed the insert. completed the job quickly and cleaned up after themselves before leaving. laid down protective mats on our carpet so the dirt wouldn't get on the carpet. had i submitted the review immediately after the work was done, i would have given them an A+++, but we started to have problems within a month of the work being done. First we started having water leakage around our fireplace (inside the house). when i called Sisson's about it, they told me it wasn't their work that caused the leakage but a cracked chimney cap. First it wasn't leaking before they did the work and second, why didn't they inform us of the problem with the chimney cap? Also, a year later, i had some other work done on our chimney that Sisson's couldn't do and discovered that Sisson's hadn't done a complete job before installing the chimney liner and therefore, i had to spend significantly more money on the chimney repair than i might have had to spend if they had really been a good contractor.
I believe when a homeowner hires a contractor to do some work, the homeowner should be able to trust the contractor to advise and recommend all the work that is important to be done so there aren't problems later that could have been prevented. Sisson's isn't a full service fireplace insert installer because they don't do masonry work and therefore chooses not to inform the customer of problems that they cannot fix.
