I having been having a problem with my HVAC system for many years. The two zone system works fine every winter, but every summer there is a problem on zone 1. Zone 2 works perfectly all year round. I have tried installing new batteries in the thermostats, installing new thermostats and swapping the thermostats between zone 1 & 2, but the problem stays on zone 1. This means that the problem is not with the thermostats. I called True Mechanical and asked to speak to someone in service to discuss this problem before scheduling service. I didn't want to pay for a service call for the technician to tell me that the thermostats are the problem and then pay for new thermostats which don't need replacing and then not be able to get my money back when the problem with zone 1 continues after the technician leaves. So, I wanted to speak to someone first to discuss the problem to save both of us time, money and aggravation. The nice woman I spoke to put me on hold and spoke to the service manager who told her to tell me that he was busy at the moment and that I should leave a message on his voice mail. I left a message and asked for him to call me back. I never received a call back. So, I tried to contact them through Angie's list, but did not hear back from them. I tried to contact them again, but did not get a response. True Mechanical installed my HVAC system when the house was built many years ago and I "recommended" them to two families who used them to install central air systems in their home. I now regret doing. Is it too much trouble for them to contact a good customer and listen to their concerns, or is this just the usual contractor saying it will be done my way or it's the highway, which is what created the need for Angie's List in the first place.

This is the second time I have used True Mechanical for my central air conditioning. They are very professional. They know what they are going, did a great job, were punctual and neat.

My central AC condenser was destroyed by Superstorm Sandy. Home Depot was advertising for AC installation. When I contacted Home Depot for a quote, I was referred to True Mechanical, their AC vendor in this area. I had to wait almost three weeks before one of their people could come over and give me an estimate. This was probably the only thing I can complain about with True Mechanical, but they were so backlogged with Sandy victims and it was still winter, so the wait really did not matter much.
The salesman called in advance to confirm the appointment. He arrived when he said he would. He was friendly and professional. He explained what my options were (replace just the condenser vs. replace whole system) and what the costs would be for each. He did not try to push the more expensive job (replacing the whole system), but explained the plusses and minuses of each. I opted to just replace the condenser.
The saleman came back one more time (on a Friday) to confirm some measurements, sign a contract and get some paperwork he needed to get the permits. A few days later (on Wednesday) I got a phone call saying they had the permits and wanted to come on Friday to install the new condenser.
The installers came exactly when they said they would. They took about 2 1/2 hours to do the work. They were very professional and cleaned up after themselves before they left.
While it has not been warm enough to use the new AC condenser yet, up to this point I have been satisfied with True Mechanical's work.

In 2002 AC was installed in my 2 story home. They have maintained the system since then. We have had no problems. Their price was fair and they did a professional job.

I was very dissatisfied with them. They sized my product incorrectly, and wouldn't call back. Their estimate was very expensive compared to the other companies I checked out for the project. I'm an engineer and I know they weren't very knowledgeable.

Early morning 1-22-07, I noticed the first floor was very cold (55). I changed the thermostat's batteries, I raised the setting to 80 but nothing worked. I called True Mechanical at 8:30 a.m. and was told a technician would be sent that day. At 2:30 p.m. a technician arrived (I was squeezed into his schedule). He quickly and efficiently located the problem and repaired it within 10 minutes. Without a contract the cost would have been approximately $200. I have had a maintenance agreement with True Mechanical for three years. Everyone is very polite, efficient and professional. Problems with heating and cooling have always been handled quickly and professionally.
