Very satisfied with the price and installation. Timely response to subsequent service calls could be improved. Otherwise, no complaints.

We have been extremely pleased with Lightning Electric and have several friends who have used them in the past and who recommended them to us. The unit was on backorder but arrived as promised and on time. Installation was extremely professionally handled. All the work was done neatly.
The owner and the employees of Lightning are a pleasure to deal with. Everyone has been courteous and they truly have a customer comes first attitude. When a problem developed during the first time the generator ran during a power outage they had their service people here in 20 minutes. When they did follow up calls they arrived exactly at the time they said they would be here. Excellent follow up and service.

I am very pleased with this contractor. In view of the cost of this project I had gotten several different estimates. Some of the companies didn't return calls, some didn't show up for appointments. My main problem however, was that many of these companies wanted me to find my own plumber to do the gas connection, file for permits, etc. Lightning Electric included all of these services in the total estimate, which by the way, was strictly adhered to at the completion of the job. There were no surprises. Anyone considering a whole house generator should be advised that using a company that does not offer a and quot;turnkeyand quot; type of installation like Lightning Electric, is in for a nightmare of sub-contracting plumbers, coordinating appointments , filing for permits and inspections, etc. Lightning Electric handled ALL of these aspects of the job at an affordable price, a price that was lower than any of the other estimates I had gotten. Furthermore, the installation went very smoothly, the installers were all very neat and respectful of my home and generally extremely cooperative and polite.
One other thing. Many of the companies that gave me an estimate insisted on placing the generator where they wanted to put it and installing the way they wanted. One company wanted to attach a gas pipe to the front of my house, while another wanted to run the wiring around the outside of the house. Rob Bello of Lightning Electric made every effort to work with me to install according to my wishes. He put the generator behind the house where I wanted it and ran the wiring up through the attic to the opposite side of the house where the electrical panel and transfer switch are. I think it's important that the homeowner's wishes are considered where possible, and Mr. Bello certainly did. I would definitely recommend Lightning Electric, and use them again should the need arise.

Estimate was done promptly and on time. After approval, electrician came and began work as scheduled. He replaced 8 old high hats with eight new units that were already purchased. The ceiling was completely open and all the wiring was fairly new, so it required little to no materials on his part. He finished in about two hours. He was supposed to install 2 new lamps in the upstairs hallway, but explained his boss scheduled too many service calls and had to leave. So I paid him $800 with the understanding that he would return early in the week to complete the job. No call and no show. Two weeeks later, I contacted the owner by phone who rescheduled for the following week. Guess what? No call and no show. The two lamps would have taken about the same time as the 8 in the basement, as he had to install new wiring, boxes, etc., so I didn't feel I was overpaying, having the understanding that he was to return. But since I had to hire someone else to complete the work, I feel I paid roughly double what I should have. Two hours work and some staples for $800. You decide.
