In September 2011 we were hit with flooding from Tropical Storm Lee. We called Serv Pro to come out for an estimate on cleaning our basement. They came out to our house and pulled up in a Serv Pro truck from California. The 2 Serv Pro employees went down in my empty, concrete basement and asked what I wanted the estimate for...I said "Cleaning", and they said "Did you already clean down here ?" I said "No" So they took measurements and told us we would be getting an estimate from their California office VIA E mail. We received the E Mail estimate for $5000 ! We felt this estimate was WAY out of line for cleaning an empty concrete basement. We feel that they were trying to take advantage of the situation by inflating their prices. We did not go with this company.
Description of Work: They came to give us an estimate for the job.

He never gave me a quote for what the job would cost. They vacuumed the water out of the garage and home with a shop vac. They also put in a dehumidifier and fans. He handed me a bill after the job was completed for $1,550. They were in my home for only 2 hours. I called the vice president of Servpro to complain about the bill. I mean, how can you justify that cost? The vice president lowered the price to $550 to me over the phone. I called the New York Attorney General - Consumer and Fraud Division to report them. Yesterday, they took me to small claims court to collect the remaining amount which the judge ruled in their favor. When the judge ruled in their favor, the vice president requested the full amount instead of the lowered price she offered me over the phone and in writing. I don't think this company would be the best company to deal with as 1) they weren't upfront of the cost and 2) they didn't do that much to warrant such a charge.
Description of Work: We had a winter rainfall. The water came off my roof and flooded my garage and home. It ruined my laminate floor. The insurance agency suggested Servpro to do the service.
