Chimney Repair, Chimney Cap Service + 2 more
2 workers arrived on time, and once they found out I had a coupon for the cleaning, it seemed they tried to sell me on replacing my chimney cap. He stated that it couldn't be cleaned from the roof because it was a fixed cap, and a removable one would be $350. He said it could be cleaned from inside, but it would be a little more difficult, maybe messy, and wouldn't be as thorough. I opted for the inside cleaning. The first guy looked at the chimney, and confirmed it was pretty dirty. He started cleaning with the vacuum, and eventually the second worker took over while the first went out to the truck. The second guy mentioned that the flue wasn't that dirty. They finished in 15 minutes or so, and I learned after it should take at least 45 minutes. To top it off, it wasn't a duraflame log, but a cheap knock-off which took about 3 hours to fully light. Next time, I'll spend about $100 for a thorough cleaning with another company.
