We contacted Michael Behr about renovating a 45 year old walk in closet. At our first meeting I gave him a general idea of what we wanted and he offered some suggestions. He then produced a very clear schematic diagram of what he was proposing to do and e-mailed it to us. After studying the schematic we decided that some changes were needed. We arranged a second meeting at which we discussed the changes and accepted some of his suggestions and arrived at a final plan and set a date for the work to be done. He e-mailed us the new schematic and said to let him know if there were any further changes that we wanted. He removed all of the old hanging bars and shelves and then painted the closed. The next day he did the installation. The finished product was exactly what we had agreed upon and we were very satisfied with his work. When he left the area in which he worked was clean. Naturally the new closet is a tremendous improvement over the old one and we are enjoying using it. We found that Michael was very personable, polite, professional and knowledgeable. His suggestions were good ones. If he was delayed in arriving at the arranged time he phoned to explain and to say when he would arrive. The quality of his work seems to be very good and we felt that the price was fair. If you're contemplating a closet renovation I would strongly recommend that you contact him.

Michael came to my house to do a free estimate. He drew me a sketch of what he could do and while he worked with my ideas, he also kindly offered his own suggestions. I really appreciated that because several other contractors either couldn't give any suggestions whatsoever despite my requests, didn't listen to what I wanted, or acted like drawing a sketch was asking a lot. The price Michael quoted me was the lowest of anybody. Some contractors wanted to work with laminate Rubbermaid shelving and wire racks-- Michael's materials were better quality than that and somehow cheaper. He brought a portfolio and it's apparent he can make a closet look really top-notch but I just didn't have the budget for that. Luckily Michael didn't push for more and he didn't make me feel bad about it. The job: As he was working, he brought any unexpected things to my attention. He did the extra work of patching holes in the drywall and painting over scratches from a previous job before him. He finished in a timely manner. He offered to clean but I preferred to do it myself. The best thing was that since he was already there with a drill, I asked if he would help me with a couple other little jobs I needed done around the house and he was SO nice about doing it. I feel like the space in my closet was used efficiently and it looks good!
