They used wood with wormholes, sanded floor so that it was visibly wavy (but still applied stain), redid then left dark pools of stain i in the corners and at borders. I hired someone else to redo the stain and finish for additional cost. So the floor was sanded and stained/finished 3 times, reducing the life of the floor boards. This was my first home purchase and they told me I didn't understand the what to expect, as if I'd never seen a floor before. Contractors hired subcontractors, who hired sub-sub contractors who don't know what they're doing and weren't supervised.

I cannot say enough good things about Mike and his crew. Honest work at honest prices plus they stand behind what they do. The main part of the job was done in September and my shabby old floors looked great after the very nice and accommodating crew did a great job. About a month later weird white splotches started showing up everywhere. Mike took one look and scheduled another screening and staining and sealing. No questions, no push back. The crew came back, moved the furniture out and did a great job. No one can figure out what went wrong the first time but it's all beautiful now. I highly recommend Strictly Hardwood.

Great! They were right on track with when they said they would be finished, the quote was exactly the same as the actual cost ( no weird or unexpected charges) and they put down three stain samples for us to chose from.

Mike was referred through our contractor Bud Moore of Above and Beyond Contracting. He was prompt with the quote and to schedule the work. We originally planned on them to just do the weave, but after removing the carpet asked them to do the whole job. Mike was able to schedule the floor refinishing within a week, which was fantastic news. The floor weave took one day and then the refinishing process to a week -we had our last coat of poly put on today. What little inconvenience it was to us was worth it - the floors look amazing and the team doing the work were prompt, courteous and very professional. One of them even spent 45 minutes with me choosing the right stain color. I would highly recommend Mike and his team.

Strictly Hardwood did an excellent job. Crew arrived on time and worked hard with an eye towards quality. Mike the owner listened well to what I wanted the floor to look like and chose a finishing product that reflected my description. The work that they did was great on the first visit. He was suppose to come back and I had to cancel the appointment. He never followed up to reschedule and it was frustrating that this happened. I do understand things come up but he never got back with me and this was for a second job. The work was beautiful. They were very congenial when doing the work. The only problem was after the initial work they were not responsive for a new job after that time.

They operated as a good team of qualified workers and did all that was specified well. An old wall had long since been removed (to turn two rooms into one) and the flooring gap filled with a utility board that left a dip you could feel under the rug. We ditched the rug and found a good floor that we wanted to restore, but needed to fill the gap smoothly and with matching wood.
Strictly Hardwood came in at this point, and did a neat job piecing in the oak, fixing some gaps around the edge and cleaning up a closet floor, and proceeded to sand and poly that entire floor back to fine condition.
They removed a stained area in the kitchen and refinished that as well. Notable that they got into the corners and under radiators for a well-detailed job.
Overall, a very competent crew and nice to work with.

Mike and his crew went above and beyond, especially regarding my slate floor that another company ruined. He was determined to bring it back to new. I can't thank him enough. They are extremely neat and professional. I felt totally comfortable leaving them in my home without my being there. I highly recommend them, they were worth every penny. Thank you Mike!

They showed up on time, worked hard all day long and then left the house glove clean. They were very nice and went above and beyond (moving furniture) what was expected of them. they were very courteous and a pleasure to have in the house.

Mike and his crew refinished our hardwood floors in our 1931 home. The floors were quite a mess and had never been, I believe, refinished. He refinished two bedrooms and the living room (around 600 square feet). He charged $2/square foot for the refinishing. We also had the floor stained a darker color and he pulled out and replaced the wood in the floor in one spot by the bathroom where it had warped due to water damage. They did really amazing work and worked within our schedule. It looks like a new floor!
