Originally hired to completely remodel my kitchen (I had already removed a cement lathe wall myself that separated kitchen from dining room), I also had a doorway cut in from the garage. Brick wall was involved but was not structural, but I am sure that they could have handled that. They evened-out the ceilings that were two different heights, finished the walls, installed beautiful cherry cabinets, installed floor and wall tiles, and finished my oak floors.  (I had my own granite guy install the counter tops since he was practically my next door neighbor and had a business in the same town). Also "minted" all the "orange-peel" walls in the entire house, skim-coated them and painted. I also had a ditch cut in the wall over the fireplace in the living room to route hdmi cables into two built-in custom cabinets that they built for me as well on either side. The cable for TV was also routed into one of these cabinets. I was impressed with their work on several levels. One major detail was the Caliente color paint I chose for the TV wall. The owner of the company did not like the satin finish- it was too reflective, so it was painted over with flat of the same color. It came out 100 times better. It was the absolute right design decision. In fact it made all the difference. They also installed new double pane windows in the garage, as well as built a small deck-like landing up to the new garage-to-kitchen door which came out wonderfully. Such professional work but what really made me fell good was how clean and neat each job project was. This contractor pays attention to details, and has an excellent design sense as well. Communicating with him was easy, friendly and professional. I could not ask for more. One more thing though. If you use them, make sure you arrange some sort of time constraint deadline into the contract. They were very busy when I had my work done, and if you have a deadline that you have to keep, I would make sure that you get this in writing beforehand. But that is what you should do with any contractor. My job should have  been completed sooner, but most of the delays were beyond the contractor's control, such as the completion of the new kitchen cabinets from a supplier in Long Island City. I know that business all over may be slow, but it was obvious that they were working with a limited crew (the cabinet manufacturer). I would suggest ordering your cabinets as soon as you can, and even sooner if possible! just sop that you get a head start while other work is being done on your kitchen space. All in all I had a pleasant experience with a true professional and my home looks great. One more thing. I did not go with the lowest price estimate I got. I went with the one with the best track record and the best recommendations. I was told by a friend who used this contractor that he cost a little more, but it was not that much "more" at all. Trust me, the peace of mind you get when you have a genuine experienced and caring pro working in your behalf is worth more than you think. I have remodeled three homes in the past 30 years, well actually two, since the first one was my parent's home, but I at least witnessed what went on. I feel as if I have been doing this all my life! All I can say is that this time I made the right decision to go with the best. And guess what? I did not lose one night of sleep and I could not be happier with the results. The way I saved money was to do the major demolition myself. So I actually saved money!
