Experience was horrible. He is very slow. He is incapable of meeting his own deadline. Our house is still yet to be finished. They left the siding unfinished and stairs on the outside. I can not use the stairs, they are unsafe. The house on the inside is nice. Be ready for disappointment and have an incredibly open time frame. When he does contact back, he is relatively nice.
Description of Work: I used Thomas J Farone & Sons to build our house.

Thomas J Farone built us a home that took almost a year to complete when we were told it would take 5 months. He is in bed with Scott Varley and Aubri Guiri on Bait and Switch tactics of telling you a huge amount of lies on what you get and never putting it down on paper. Therefore, you end up with a home that is barely built to code and well below quality that you expected. We have spoken with over 20 home owners that have built with him and over 10 other builders that know him. Every single one of them have VERY bad things to say about Tommy and his lack of integrity. He simply doesn't know what he is doing OR doesn't care. I think the latter. At some point I wouldn't be surprised to see him brought up on charges on various counts of robbery and deceipt. We personally had to start a lawsuit and then post a potential warrant for his arrest when we found out that he didn't even put our $50,000 down payment into escrow. Luckily, in the end, we go out of our contract because of this and walked away from a year of living a nightmare. Unfortunately, the nice people that moved in from out of town didn't know any better and bought our home that was valued $75,000 less than what it sold for by the bankers. The new owners still don't have anything fixed in their home after 1.5 years and there are a lot of things wrong or broken or missing. STAY away from this builder. It will ruin any beliefs that people are generally good hearted individuals.
Description of Work: Built us a home and never completed.

Description of Work: We had a house built in 2008 by this company, which started out as a good experience. Everything went fairly smooth through the building process, however we never did meet the builder directly during this process. After being in the house for for a year and a half we discovered our basement was filled with water. Basic building 101-properly vent the attic, which it was not. We had a huge amount of micro toxin mold in our attic, with a certified write up to prove it. After Farone's staff came back to fix it, about 6 months later the water was back. We then hired our own contractor to take care of the situation. So many dollars out of our pocket, many sleepless nights, many antibiotics from an allergy to mold we finally had it fixed. To this day we have never met Mr. Farone. He moves very quickly from one house to the next. All of his work is sloppy, unprofessional, cheap, and he truly has no compassion for anyone or anything. You may think you are getting a lot of house for a minimal amount of money, however plan to dump many dollars into it once your in. You will find yourself fixing one thing after another, and telling yourself "I should have known, it's a Farone built house". It is now our Money Pit!

My wife and I contracted with Thomas J Farone & Sons to build a new home. During the process, our basement was flooded with water and mud as a hole was cut in the foundation for the sewer lines but the work was not completed immediately. Therefore, the rain caused mud and water to flood the basement. Our stairs and drywall were replaced, but the floor was left with dirt and dust and the saw cut perimeter drain was filled with mud and debris. Our roof leaked and caused damage to the dining room, garage, basement and bonus room. The builder attributed the leak to an ice dam and therefore absolved himself from any responsibility. The roof continued to leak throughout the winter as well as during some rain storms. Fearful of a lawsuit, the builder sent over the roofer to "take a look". The roofer candidly stated that the roof design was for a home intended to be located in the south. As a result, we have asked the builder to meet us half way to redesign the roof as we have lived in the house approximately seven months. To this point, the builder has refused to work with us to resolve the problem. Last month we had an issue with the sump pit/gravity drain system. Water was entering the sump pit from the gravity drain, the opposite of what should happen. There was also a ring of water on the foundation approximately six inches above the sump pit. Our contract stipulates that we should have two separate daylights for our exterior and interior perimeter drains. The builder only installed one daylight, connecting both the interior and exterior drains to one system. Some additional lowlights: The stonework on the front of our home has two different cement colors (not intended) Kitchen drain for the faucet was not sealed properly and leaked into the cabinet below causing wood to warp Wrong tile was applied around the bathtub and fireplace Sliding glass door was not installed properly Doorbell was not wired correctly, when we moved in we noticed a buzzing sound, fuse had to be pulled as the fixture was overheating There is NO customer service and there is NO concern for quality. Everything that goes wrong is the homeowners fault as the builder accepts no responsibility. Contractors utilized by the builder cut corners. Thomas J Farone Jr has no integrity, takes no pride in his projects, and is one of the most disingenuous people you will ever meet. Avoid this builder and any home associated with this builder.
