When our hot water heater stopped working a couple of days before Christmas, I quickly called a plumber who had been recommended by a friend. The gentleman came to my home, looked at the water heater, and explained that I needed a new part. He called a plumbing supply store, drove to pick up the part, and came back to my home to install it. I thought I detected a scent of beer on him when he returned, but I mistakenly dismissed it. He installed the part, I paid him $300.00, and he left. The next morning, I still had no hot water! I called him to inquire what may have been wrong, and he did not return my call. I found another plumber that day who actually DID repair the problem. He explained that the first serviceman did not actually perform any service on the heater. This gentleman repaired the heater, made sure it was working before he left, and gave me all his contact information in the event something went wrong again. I paid him $125.00 along with a tray of holiday cookies! A few months later, I attempted to contact Progressive Plumbing, and he never returned my calls. I also sent him a certified, return receipt letter in order to take him to Small Claims Court, but he refused to sign for the letter.
Description of Work: I called Progressive Plumbing to assess a problem with my hot water heater. He "replaced" a part and charged $300.00 for parts and labor.
