Mr. Hinman was amazing. His work was excellent quality. We had a real problem with a mud room that was unusable because the wood was rotten. Dan helped us remove the awkwardness of it all (there were 2 sets of stairs into the kitchen!) and open the space. Would definitely hire a hundred times over.

It was a major remodeling project...living without a kitchen is never easy but they were great in making space “usable” throughout the construction process. They are very thoughtful every step of the way. Each night we came home to a clean and organized work area. Overall the project went very well!

Opinion: Dan Hinman and his crew are amazing. Facts: They did what I think of as a large job in 4 weeks; They were incredibly tidy; They were incredibly professional; I will hire them again in spring for another project!!

Even with mother nature conspiring against us , this project went very well. From start to finish Jami and Kim were professional and a joy to work with. As with most projects we made a few alterations along the way and they were very accomodating letting us know what would and wouldn't work. The finished project is amazing. We are planning on using them again for an upcoming bathroom porject!

kim and jamie were great to work with. kim took care of the design and helped with picking out all the needed items. jamie and his crew were extremely professional, friendly neat and hard working. he always explained things along the way and went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. they cleaned up every day and never left a mess. his crew was always polite, courteous and professional. outstanding team.

Our house is 26 years old and in need of painting and updating. My husband and I are in our 70s and no longer able to take on major remodeling projects. Our upstairs guest bathroom was badly in need of repair. We approached this project with anxiety, having been warned by family and friends that working with contractors never goes as planned. These well meaning folks had obviously never met nor worked with Kim and Jami Hinman and their team. Jami arrived on the date, as promised, even earlier than expected. Within an hour, having put down tarps and plastic sheeting to protect the floor and rugs, they had removed all of the old equipment. They worked continuously, stopping only for a brief lunch. Over the duration of the job, 41/2 days, they vacuumed, swept,and packed up all of their equipment and the end of each day. Jami really knows his craft. He is knowledgable and capable.The three young men, working with Jami, Jessie, Steve and Matt, were hardworking, focused and professional. Kim checked in, always with a smile and welcome suggestions. Before they left I made sure to arrange for the next project, downstairs bathroom and hall. It couldn't have been easier or more pleasant to work with this powerhouse couple who are as delightful to speak and work with as they are excellent in their field.I've already recommended Hinman Construction to friends, and will continue to sing their praises.

They never gave us the measurements of the kitchen and took another month for them to get back in touch with us. Then they wanted to charge us $26000 to do the kitchen, and we could have done it for much less with someone else. I would not do business with them again.

"This meeting took place over a year ago and after we provided the information requested, we were told that much of the work would be done by the homeowner who graciously thanked us for the drawings provided. Not sure why this is review was written. Unfortunately sometimes people have unrealistic expectations and budgets. This package was for a 3D rendering which provides a visual preview of your possible kitchen design. We provided that and more along with a full scope of work and related budgets with options noted as well as allowances for the product recommendations. Most kitchens start at $ 25,000.00 and depending on selections for hardwood, tile, granite, lighting, paint and related coordinated items, the factors for labor and material affect the cost. I am quite surprised with your review after having sat with both you and your husband in front of my computer reviewing the design options and related items you wanted to include in your remodel. We approach each project with the same goals and objectives. Sometimes it is simply not a good fit for the budget. As an Angie's List 2013 Superior Service Award winner in multiple categories, I would strongly encourage you to read the reviews written by those who did hire Hinman Construction and can truly attest to the quality provided and the level of professionalism. We are a professional remodeling company that takes great pride in our work. We love what we do and it shows."

The project went very well from start to finish. I like the fact that Kim and Jami Hinman come as a team. Kim is there to help each step of the way during the planning stages. She will go with you to the cabinet stores, Granite store or whereever you need to go and give you names of people to contact for all the other parts.Jami is an excellent carpenter and his work is top notch with a lot of attention to detail. We knew what we wanted from the onset of the project and Kim and Jami helped us tweak it and guided us along the way. Jami is super to deal with each morning when they arrive and all concerns/changes/adjustments are addressed immediately. Kim is available to speak with whenever needed and gets back to you right away if she can't answer at the moment. Our kitchen is beautiful and exactly what we wanted. I am hoping to use Hinman Construction again for 2 bathroom projects.

Jami and the guys were great at the execution. They protected the rest of the house, and made it livable before leaving each night. Their knowledge and workmanship are superb. They were not the low bidders; they inspired the most confidence and provided the most help before the work began. That confidence was not misplaced. The results were outstanding.

The owners are very personable and pleasant.
They had to reschedule our initial meeting by one week.
They told me it would be a week for the plan to be created.
After two weeks I called and was told they were out of town on vacation.
It took one month to get the plan.
It seemed like very little effort went into the plan and did not include everything we discussed and was not very detailed.
This was just an estimate that I paid $99 for. I have received more detailed estimates from other contractors for free.
I would not recommend this offer to anyone. I cannot speak to the quality of their construction work as I did not chose to hire this company.

We presented you with a complete scope of work that matched your requested modifications as well as 4 designed options for your kitchen which included moving your kitchen from one room to another, cabinet layout and wood finish options, lighting, backsplash, island vs. peninsula, custom beams, hardwood flooring, window removal and replacement, relocating gas lines and much more. We also provided you with a full scope of work estimate with budgets ($ 36,000.00) for the designed items. We also met and reviewed the details on paper as well as within the CAD program with the opportunity for revisions. As with all our clients, I brought my design program/computer to you for these revisions. Additionally, at your request, additional documents/drawings were emailed to you. After which, we never received any follow up or response to our follow up. We purchased the big deal coupon for this service and it was a little disappointing. They came and took the measurements, but the plan that they presented us with was really not creative at all. So our main complaint was lack of creativity in terms of their designs. We were looking to renovate our kitchen, and they really didn’t give us any ideas or anything that we kind of could not come up on our own. They gave us a custom design and 3-D rendering of it, but we saw nothing interesting or creative. They didn’t charge us anything extra. When they came, they were responsive and they came quickly. It wasn’t just what we had pictured.

I bought a special through Angie's for a 3D kitchen layout. The Hinman's contacted me to come over and measure my kitchen. They listened to my vision for the kitchen and looked at my Pinterest board to help with the design. Lastly, Kim Hinman came and sat with me for over an hour while we tried different color combinations. I will most likely hire Hinman construction this summer to do my kitchen. I've talked with people who have hired the Hinman's and everyone gives positive feed back.

The first time we hired Kim and Jami was in 2000, to evaluate our house for damages after a terrible storm. Hinman Construction was very professional, thorough, competitively priced and super nice! Great People. We are now entertaining have our deck replaced and with a three season room.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. The rendering was helpful but it wasn't completely what we wanted. When I called they said that Angie's List made a mistake and they only wanted it in Saratoga County and I am in Albany County. They said they would do the rendering but not to expect much because it was out of their work area. They did give us the rendering and it did prove helpful to us for visualizing some of the things. If there was a possibility that we would have used them, we would have wanted a little bit more.

We had checked with 3 contractors obtaining suggestions and quotes from all 3. We chose Hinman because of the relaxed, professional presentation of the husband and wife team, price, and endorsements from previous customers. Jamie and Dan were meticulous and extremely neat during all phases of the project. They explained each day what they would be doing and followed through on everything. Kim was very helpful with details when we ourselves were not sure what we wanted. They were timely each day and throughout the project. In a matter of less than 3 weeks we had a beautiful new kitchen and would highly recommend them for any type of remodeling.

Hinman was very professional and nice to speak with. I spoke with a woman over the phone who was very knowledgeable and upfront about the costs. They were able to come the next day and showed up on time. Everyone was very helpful and went above and beyond to explain what was being done and why. We ended up not needing a new subfloor (just needed to let it dry out). I really appreciated the fact that they did not take advantage of me, since I was certain it needed to be replaced. They went through all the reasons why it was fine and ended up saving us a bunch of money.
They even helped put the toilet back on (where the water had leaked from) at no charge. The drywall work they did looked great and we even had another company installing insulation a few months ago and they commented that whoever replaced the drywall in the ceiling did a great job because from up above you could barely see a seam. They cleaned up after everything and were super nice the whole time they were there. Technically, for what we had done the price was higher compared to all the other quotes we received, but it was well worth the money. I would spend every penny again because they did an outstanding job (especially to be noted by another contractor). You really do get what you pay for.

We spoke on the phone several times. Kim created three designs of one layout. I tweaked it a couple of times and she moved things around a bit. They came out to the house and took measurements. They were very nice and seemed to know their work very well. It was a positive experience. She gave me a very professional looking packet about the company. They were very personable and very professional. I appreciated they went out of their way to do this job for us even though it was out of our territory. I would give them a good recommendation.

They came and visited up promptly. They wrote up a design for us. They came back within 7 days to go over everything with us. They gave us an estimate and they were very professional. From the start, Hinman was thoughtful. They included our design features and accomodated our revisions. Work was done in a timely manner and within budget. There were no surprises. The site was cleaned at the end of each day which made it easier on us.
