When we arrived the reception couldn't have been better. They had all of our records and the paperwork was done. Knowing we were new, the receptionist then explained their reception area to us - and quot; Dogs one one side, cats on the other. Brochures, magazines and even free coffeeand quot; It was a large and friendly waiting area.
Shortly after we arrived, we were taken into an examaining room where a technician then took additional, comprehensive history. Dr. Eric Anderson gave our dog an extensive exam lasting at least 1/2 hour. He then referred us to a specialist and even though it was wafter 5:30pm, called and spoke directly to the specialist - explaining our situation and getting us an appointment for the next day. Our dog was scheduled for surgery right away. We just got the word everything went well.
The cost of the actual examination was about 1/2 of what we expected to pay!
Dr. Eric Anderson and the staff at Ballston Spa Veterinary Clinic are examples of the way a veterinary practice should be run - If we didn't live 1 1/2 hours away they would be our vet in a heartbeat!
Great Vet, Great Staff, Great Price!!!!
I arrived to pick up our dog at a little after 8:00 am on Monday July 23, 2012 and told the woman at the counter which dog I was there to pick up. She promptly told someone in the back to get my dog ready, then had me pay for the boarding and gave me my receipt. I was going to sit down to wait for them to bring my dog out, when a woman came out of the back and told me that they had just started giving my dog a bath, and would I prefer to come back later to pick up my dog or wait while they finished. Since I had to go to work and would already be late, I told her I would stay. After waiting for a few minutes, the woman at the counter who already processed my payment for the boarding, informed me that I needed to pay for the bath ($27.80) and nail trim ($19.00), that were being completed while I was waiting. So, I paid the new bill then sat for another 15-20 minutes, until they brought my dog out.
I would like to say that the Ballston Spa Veterinary Clinic has always provided great medical service and treatment of our dog and cat since we have been taking them there. However, I was extremely dissappointed that they found it necessary to squeeze out $46.80 in services while I sat in their waiting room, when those services could have/should have been done sometime during the 9 previous days they were boarding our dog.
Although we will continue to take our dog and cat to the clinic for medical treatment, we will find another place to board our pets.
"Member, Thank you for this positive feedback. We work hard to provide the best possible care for our patients and their human family members. End-of-life issues are always the most difficult to deal with, but our goal is to maintain both compassion and professionalism throughout the process. I am glad we have done so with you. We look forward to seeing you soon, hopefully for some routine care of your other pets. Thanks,Dr. Andersen."
Now, our visits are just for regular routine geriatric dog visits. Their office runs very smoothly and seamlessly and their building is a joy to visit. They have helped us with teeth cleaning and removal and various other conditions that have popped up in the past 3 years. We could not be happier with their service.
You might have to wait a little while for you appointment as they spend the necessary amount of time with each pet that is required. So sometimes, it means waiting for your turn but they are very good about communicating with you while you wait.
