I feel badly that I have recommended these people to friends and family. That stops immediately.

I don't know where to begin - I am sad I have to write a negative review but it was that insanely ridiculous that I need to 1. share my experience with prospective customers and 2. let the company know my issues as I'm assuming they're not taking my concerns into consideration and it's just that bad
I paid a lot of money for a first floor reno - almost 4k when it came down to it. They brought the floor over the 13 and started the floor the 16th.
So it began with a few men showing up at 8am - I'm thinking after meeting with Kurt two times at my house and a couple times at the store that they'd have a plan and be prepared to complete my floor. Well, when they all stood there dumbfounded that they had to rip the tile up and said they had no clue they had "that much" of a job to do and didn't have the tools and needed to go back to the store to get tools, I should've been ready for the rest of what was to happen.
Kurt told me it was going to get dusty - WELL it WAS DUSTY - my entire house upstairs and down - every closet every section of my house, my clothes upstairs in the closets, books, tvs, sheets, every single wall and ceiling, every but of furniture and window treatment, was covered in dust - we've cleaned it three times and still since that week are cleaning up our walls for example keep collecting this film and i feel nothing is picking it up. Our garage where they cut everything took my two days to clean, I took a day off from work because of the thick dust and the remains from the laminate they left in my garage (which I will show a picture as an example) - I threw a lot out ... why not have something available to avoid that and decrease that from happening in people's homes? That was not a part of the plan - I was told dust but not to that extreme - Kurt told me he's been getting that complaint a lot from home owners - well why not take their words into consideration and do something about it??
So next comes the floor - well it took the full week to do it (but they're still not done as of 3/13) - I painted all my trim the night before they did the floor because I wanted it to be ready and look nice when putting it back on and I repainted my walls before as well to make sure it looked nice where the trim would go back on ... my trim is brown, black, holes all over, the caulking they put on is all over my wall and was obviously put on completely careless (I have pictures of this as well - it sounds like a small thing but wait until you see how it looks and imagine your walls looking like that from a  3600 dollar job)
The first thing with the floor ... wellllll... Kurt and I specifically said and agree that going the longways in my house would make it appear bigger and flow nicely... I walk in a quarter of the way through the job being done and it was going the WRONG WAY! The man on the floor putting the floor in tried to tell me Mike told him to put it that way and Mike asked me which way I wanted it ... that is a lie and not once did anyone ask me and I figured they had the very detailed plans that Kurt had on the grid when he met with me TWICE at my house. This was only the beginning so I wasn't completely angry, I told myself to take a deep breath and just let it go - had I known the rest I would've probably been much more assertive.
The next thing... there were spaces between the pieces where they didn't connect them completely, seriously? That's just not even a discussion, lets not even go there, that's just silly.
Next, they take my mantle and they break it... they chip it with a hammer - my beautiful fireplace mantle - they put it back unevenly - this is my home - they blamed the mantle being put on piece by piece, it's not the mantle's fault - I now have to repaint and somehow repair my mantle - that was not part of the 3600 dollar deal for my to have to repair my mantle. I also just painted the mantle so I know every inch of it and what great shape it was in.
Following the mantle I look at the transition piece around the fireplace. I kid you not, I could stick my finger between the mantle and the laminate transition piece, not even something you could caulk because it's wood so instead of getting a new transition piece or cutting it correctly in the first place, they leave it there thinking maybe I won't see it I guess? again.... 3600 dollars for this??!?!
Then I go to the other side of the trim and there's a sharp point where someone could slice their toe open because it doesn't match up. Who did you hire to do my trim Ballston Carpet and Tile?Isn't trim pretty simple?
Then I go see my sliding door- it was left without quarter round so I had a big gap between my door and the new laminate (this is after they were done)  - So I had to call to get that put in, when it was put in it was not cut evenly and this past Wednesday when they came back he threw some sloppy caulking in there to "fix" it. Next, they somehow lost a piece of trim, I again won't go there. They just left never saying a word about it I don't understand that? I wasn't going to notice? Just said you can't find a piece and throw a piece in there it's literally 5 inches
So now we are to the fireplace... the lovely fireplace that I love and is the focal point in my first home that I take pride in, that I waited and saved up 5 years to redo
I bought simple tile, it was to go around the fireplace and on the floor. So, they do so and wouldn't you know that it was completely uneven. for 3,600 dollars wouldn't you want your tile to look professionally done and not like a DIY project? I called and they came to fix it in March (this is now the next month and the job still hasn't been complete) ... so they come and do the tiles yesterday. I look and wouldn't you know a very very dark grout (brown) has been used for the tiles they fixed and a very light grout was used (light gray) originally. It's only been 48 hours since that was done so unless it completely changes colors then they used TWO DIFFERENT GROUT COLORS for my NEW fireplace. I know grout dried lighter, but we are going on day two and it's only seeming to get darker? We will see on this one.
So I told Kurt the little details matter most to me and I wanted to be sure they'd be paid close attention to. Well, when I see the white pantry door put back on in the kitchen (after I cleaned black finger prints off it three times) I notice heyyyy they didn't put the door hinges back on - surprise! now that's missing some detail wouldn't you agree?
Lastly something I'm trying to not look at is the trim under the sink where it's sunken in oddly in one area and then comes back out - I'll just add a picture of that as well
As I was going to move the pile of tile he left just as I was finishing up this review, I got to check out the new transition piece around the fireplace - WOW this is just simply laughable now but beyond laughable it makes me want to scream and cry all at the same time.
I will be going to get this matter taken care of but I wanted to share this review before someone else just lets them go in their house and make these carless and avoidable mistakes. I apologize for my sarcasm but what else can I do at this point? It's so ridiculous I really don't know where to begin. So, I'll begin with a review to tell you my experience and how awful it's been and since the floor got dropped off one month ago today it's still not as I was told - different colors, cut incorrectly, installed carelessly, going the wrong way, dirty, etc.
Such a terrible experience with this company. Unfortunately I wanted to give a local business my business and after 5 years of saving up for this and all the excitement - I was beyond let down. I'm hoping to get this fixed, get the blue tape off the floor, get the right colors and professionally complete job and move on and take this as a very expensive and five years of saving my pennies as a lesson learned
