Fantastic! He worked diligently for my entire driveway, with it's turns and probably nearly 150 ft. in total length.

Fantastic! Chris, the owner, was involved the entire time. He came out quickly to provide a quote and stated first thing that he was booked for the next couple of months. The quote was completed on the spot with complete scale drawings and a medium range for the materials. He provided a lot of options and explained every detail of the process. Everyoneon the job site was very friendly, professional, and kept the site clean. The finished product is beyond our expectations! We will definitely be using them again.

Overall we were very satisfied with the quality of work . The owner was totally involved in the process from beginning to end. His crew was polite and they kept the work area as neat and clean as possible. We would use them again!! Their price was very competitive since I got quotes from 3 companies and theirs's was the lowest. The only negative thing that I could say is that they started the job much later then they had originally told us. We realized that the weather was a factor but it was very hard for us to believe that weather delayed their start-up by almost 2 months. We were originally told when we signed the contract that work would begin in the beginning of August. They never showed up until 9/23/2013. However, that being said if you are looking for a contractor that will give you quality work at a reasonable price ,Vancour would serve you well. In the end, we were satisfied and we determined that the wait was well worth it. We would use them again.

Workers were very prompt on the show time for our walkway which took two days of work. We had to have a blacktop driveway cut and pavers were installed to allow proper water flow away from our garage area. Of three estimates from different businesses doing this kind of work, Chris VanCour was the only contractor who recommended this solution to our drainage problem. We had two steps installed to our front stoop and the 24 square foot porch was paved too. The facia of the steps were decorated with cut pavers. They had to direct a drain pipe under the walkway and it empties to a pop-up valve in the front yard. At the end of their work, the dirt was raked and clean up was very professional. The patio had to have proper slope in order to drain properly, and VanCour Landscaping used laser sighting to make sure all of the sloping was proper. We have had hard rain since the work was accomplished, drainage is perfect. I would highly recommend Van Cour Landscaping to anyone requiring this type of work.

Chris Van Cour was responsive, answered questions easily, did a great job. Cleaned up so well the place looked as if it were never touched...I would use him again if the occasion arose.

Van Cour was so pleasant when he came out. He advised us that we cannot use mortar with bricks because of our location. He will be finished soon.

They were great. They are easy to schedule with and came on time. They were very reasonably priced. They were able to remove it all with no problems.

The drain pipes were installed and it appeared that he did it properly. It did not help the water in the basement but it did help the yard not be so wet. He was supposed to re-landscape where he dug up but did not do that in the front very well as you can see the indentation where he dug. We were not happy with his initial design for the retaining wall. It cut the yard into 2 separate spaces and did not allow for good flow. I had to redesign it for him. When building the wall, his design did not allow for smooth start and finish to the wall and would have had the dirt just spilling out around the edges. I came up with a design change to fix this. Towards the end of the job, he was falling behind as well as running low on stones. These were high quality cement stacking wall blocks. There were different sizes so a design needed to be followed. Instead of telling us that he needed to buy more stone, he just took some smaller cut pieces and glued them together. It looked terrible. I made him take them apart and paid him to buy more stone and do it properly. He was not at the job site towards the end and some of his workers did things that maybe he would not have done himself. In the end we ended up happy with the way the wall looks and it seems to be sturdy. We told him that we wanted a flat back yard but he did not excavate enough dirt so we still have a slope to the yard. In the contract that we signed, he said that he would not do any other job until ours was completed. Once he started falling behind, he started going to other jobs, delaying ours even more. It was delayed long enough so that we felt it was too cold to properly plant the lawn. He insisted that it would work even though the temps were freezing and it snowed the day after he put down the seed. As we were unsure if the lawn would take, we and he agreed that the last $500 would be withheld to ensure that if the lawn did not come, he would fix it. The lawn ended up not coming up right. It was all weeds with a lot of ruts and uneven areas from where his trucks drove and where the dirt sank. In 2009 he showed up in the spring and agreed he would do it in the Fall so we would not have a muddy yard all summer. He did not show up until spring 2010 when he threw some seeds and top soil down in a few small spaces and left a bill for $500 in our mail box. He did not call before coming or he would have known that we would be out of town and could not water it so the seeds he did put down died He did not fix the large rutted areas. When we refused to pay the $500, he took us to small claims court and lost. We hired another company to fix the lawn costing us $1,000. He was a nice person but we had some issues with the designs for the wall, were were not happy with his communication during the job and did not feel he handled things professionally

A great experience working with Chris Vancour. He had terrific ideas, the project went smoothly, and looked fantastic. His staff was great. Our home was built in the 1940's and the front steps were really showing wear and tear. A beautiful paver walkway including lighting and matching front steps has made a world of difference.

It went very well. Chris was polite, friendly and professional and provided an accurate estimate. He gave us options to consider, such as recessed lights and a fire pit, we went with the recessed lights. His crew were polite and professional and cleaned up after themselves. The work looks beautiful and will add to the value of our home.

I pretty much told the story in the above paragraph. I entered N/A in the price section because I really don't know how much someone else would do this for since there was so much work to be done, no one else even wanted to tackle it; esp. the pulling of the shrubbery (as opposed to just cutting it to ground level). I entered "I got exactly what I paid for" because there was no option other than "I got more than I paid for" or "i was overcharged". All in all, it was worth this much to me to have the yard and garden that I have now. I don't feel in the least bit "ripped", but rather, I feel that Chris really listened to me and when I gave him free range to design, I think he really put a lot of thought into it. Come see my beautiful yard!

We suggested our ideas to Chris with regards to landscaping. He came up with a plan and date and started on time. He also connected our rain spouts to a drainage system that was approved by the town. after bad weather set in last fall he had to stop the project until spring. As soon as the first break in weather came he contacted us and set up the appointment to finish the project. My wife and I are extremely satisfied with what he promised and delivered. It looks great! He had great ideas and his crew did a tremendous job. all are very professional, and hard workers and all take a lot of pride in what they do. if I were to do it again I would call Chris. We got more than we expected from Vancour Landscaping.
