We contacted them for a clogged kitchen sink drain, then called back after reading poor reviews to cancel the service. They never came to our house, but that did not stop them from sending us a fraudulent bill for $161.00 for removing blockages from a toilet (the clog we had was in the kitchen sink, not a toilet, and again, they NEVER came to our house). We called them and they said they would rectify the bill, then billed us again. We called again during their stated business hours and were told we had reached an answering service. When we insisted they connect us to the company, the person hung up on us. We called again (still during stated business hours) and spoke to a different person who again refused to connect us and hung up on us. We are reporting them to the Attorney General for fraudulent billing. This company should not be listed on Angie's List.

I was refered to Town Mechanical via the Home Depot installation services. They did not have any Energy Star rated tanks in stock and told me to purchase what I wanted myself from Home Depot and that they would schedule the installation. This is what I did. When the installer arrived he told me that I had mistakenly purchased a power venting unit instead of the standard venting my home required. They kindly offered to charge me for an hour of service, when no work had been performed and if I wanted to cut Home Depot out of the deal, I could purchase directly from them. If I purchase directly from them, I would be refunded for the hour service call they were charging me for. Upon calling the office to schedule a purchase and installation directly, I again was told they did not have energy star models in stock and tried to down sell me a 40 gal tank when I was trying to replace a 50 gal tank. In the end I called someone else who was able to install the first tank I purchased with no issues. Mechanical Town does not know what the latest in Hot Water tank technology is and is trying to take advantage of homeowners in crisis.

I called Home Depot for a forty gallon Rheem Hot Water tank and Home Depot gave me this installers phone number. They go by multiple names; Town Mechanical Inc and AroundTown Plumbing and Heating. They installed a hot water tank and I asked my Wife to take a picture of the ID plate so I could register it for warranty. I am disabled and my wheelchair prevents access to the hot water tank and furnace. I was shocked to find out they installed a Bradford White heater, Home Depot does not even list that brand online. I immediately called Town Mechanical, was told their driver must have grabbed the wrong water heater, and a Bradford White was a much better unit and cost much more, but there would be no change in price. I politely refused the Bradford White and demanded the Rheem that I had ordered. They returned the following week and removed the Bradford White and installed the Reheem. Several days later we got hit with a cold spell and our house was freezing. My Wife looked at the furnace and discovered that Town Mechanical had shut-off the furnace and to make matters worse they never capped off the chimney pipe so we had cold air pouring in the house. Again I called Town, they agreed it was included and should have been done and did not understand why their man had turned off the furnace. Town returned again a capped off the chimney. Now on 6/11/2017 we got hit with 90 degree temperatures, so my Wife turned on the Central Air, (which we had already used twice this season before getting a hot water tank installed). Several hours later my Wife discovered water coming out of the utility closet, soaked rugs and a soaked dog bed. She opened the utility closet door and saw water dripping from a pump on the side of our two year old furnace/central air unit. She called the company that had installed the furnace/central air and they immediately sent a tech out to our house. He discovered someone had unplugged the pump, he plugged it back in, charged us $96.12 for a service fee, and left. Only Town Mechanical had worked in that utility closet and I truly believe they disabled my furnace and central air unit. I learned never to try and buy a hot water tank from Home Depot again and to warn my friends about what happened to me.

It went great!! They came as promised with the hot water heater and removed the old installed the new within a few hours. (took the old with them) The price is a flat rate hot water heater of my choosing and the install. All were charged to my Home Depot card and the heater and install guaranteed by Home Depot. I would go this route again and may next spring for a new furnace and A/C unit

Called on a Monday to have an estimator come over due to a broken sewer line outside the house. He called back within 2 hours and stopped over. He checked out the sewer lines inside and out and advised they could fix the pipes including digging out the broken line and replacing the old pipe in the basement as well. He quoted me between 2800-3200$ and said he would email me a written estimate and get back to me that day. I never got the email and he didn't call back until the following day. He said they couldn't do the job until the middle of the following week and it was no big deal because lots of people have sewage leaks. He said he would try to figure something out for me and would get back to me asap. He also said they would need to take apart my fence to get their machine into dig the pipe. I never heard another word from him and never got the written estimate. Since all of the waste water from the house was leaching into my yard, I called another plumber who did the exactly the same job the next business day for half the price. He also dug out the pipe by hand with no damage to my fence. I finally heard back from Town 6 days later (the day they were supposed to start the work). He said they could start in 2 days. I told him it was already done since I hadn't heard anything from them. They lost out on the business due to poor customer service and I saved a lot of cash. Still waiting on the email with the written estimate.

I first called the night that it happened (about 9 PM) but I told the person who answered (I think it was an answering service) that I could wait until the next day for the repairs.  I was called within 20 min. by a company rep., again explained the details of my situation and said it could be fixed the next day.  I was called at 9 AM the next day (Friday) and discovered they thought it was a hot water tank leak.  i explained everything again and that person said they would get back to me when they had located a tank.  When I did not hear by 10 AM I called again, was told the owner himself was tracking it down. I provided the tank information from the nameplate on the tank.  I was called back shortly thereafter by the owner and he discussed an alternative mfg. I agreed to that and he said he was going to make sure that was available and then call to set up the appt.  Apparently, up to maybe this point or the previous call they were not aware that I was out of water entirely and could not run  my pump.
I got the final call about noon and they said someone would be there within an hour with a new tank and make repairs.  The repairman arrived early in the afternoon and replaced the tank. He also replaced a valve and a union that were in very bad condition.  I had water back by 6 PM that evening.
Other than the communications problem I am very satisfied with the work.  The repairman usually did new construction installations but was diverted to do my job because of the urgency.  He was well above normal with his service.

We were  leavingTown for the Thanksgiving holiday and chose to leave a day early to miss the bad weather. We woke up that morning to a burning smell and discovered that the furnace blower was not operating. We called Town Mechanical after having two good experiences with their plumbing division.  We explained our situation; they shuffled some appointments and had a technician at our house within an hour.
He diagnosed the problem as a bad blower motor.  He had difficulty removing the old motor and he then needed to locate and pick up a replacement motor.  All done in 3 hours. We left on time.

Very satisfied. Total replacement was deemed unnecessary, although I was prepared for it due to heater's age. Repairman arrived at the end of his two hour window; I would have been happier if I was contacted at the onset of the expected arrival but it was same day service and efficient. Office quoted price when appointment was made. They were fully staffed and very professional.

Communications with the home-office were a bit disconnected, but arrangements were made within reasonable parameters. The plumber arrived ahead of schedule (I asked for such when making arrangements) and he removed the old. leaking water heater, then installed a new one. The gentleman was personabel, and answered all my questions with comfortable conviction and appropriate detail. The installation appears proper and the water is hot. In summary, a seemingly efficient and tentatively effective water heater installation. The price seemed a bit high after I investigated the cost for the unit/model installed, but the service was excellent.

The initial technician came out within 4 hours of calling them. After about 3 hours on the job he said he fixed the leak and left. After the fact we found out it was not a pipe he was familiar with. The next day we noticed the pipe was still leaking all over the floor. We had our manager call the company back to have someone come back out and fix it. The manager called the company back and got the after hours technician. The after hours technician said that he could not come back out to the house to fix the initial work because he did not have proof that the work was done by Town Mechanical the previous day. He sounded very scared of making the wrong decision. Our manager said that it appeared as though he must have been given orders to not trust any customers and make sure he gets paid for everything before he starts the work. Our manager told the technician many times that it was an emergency and that we would be willing to pay if he was unable to find the original paperwork when the office opened the following day. The technician told us that because of company policy, he could not come out to fix it. We had to call another plumbing company to fix the work Town Mechanical could not fix. The following day our manager called Town Mechanical to let them know about the problem. They said they did not have any record of our call the second night and they could not do anything for us. After 2 days of arguing with them they found the records and gave a partial apology. They offered 1 free hour off the next service call. That hardly seemed like an appropriate offer considering it cost much more than that to fix their problem the second night. We will not use Town Mechanical again because their work was terrible, they left us with a flooded house during an emergency, and their record keeping is so poor that it took them 2 days to figure out what they did wrong.

I found this vender on Angie's List under a different name. It was highly recommended so I set up a service call.  They came the same day.  The plumber who came was very friendly and professional.  However, without even looking at the unit he started in on how I needed a new Water Heater.  I explained I really would like him to look at it and see if it was an easy fix.  I was pretty sure what I needed.  He came back a few minutes later and said  - "it doesn't look good, looks as if you're going to need a new unit."  I asked him to check the Thermal Coupler (which should have been the FIRST thing he checked.)  I explained I did not have the budget to put in a new unit at this time but that I did want a new 'on-demand' water heater in the near future.  He brightened up at that and said "let me take another look."  He came back a few minutes later telling me he had replaced the thermal coupler and everything was working just fine.  "Someone will call you about an estimate for the new system."

Online, the part he replaced costs $4.99.  He charged me . 16.11 - more than a 300% markup.  Hey, I know everyone needs to make a profit, ok.  He was here for a total of 45 minutes (I was teaching an hour lesson at the time, he came after my student had arrived an before my student had left.)  When I looked over the bill he had charged me for 1.25 hours of labor - a padding of about 66% over the actual time.

I tried to send an email to the company as identified on their website, but it bounced back as invalid.

Needless to say I am disappointed and will not give them my business again.

The plumber located the general area that the clog was located. He tried to snake it out with a normal size snake, but the clog didn't budge. He then got a high powered machine and went to the main drainage pipe in the basement and removed the clog.

Removed old walk-in tub/shower and replaced with standard tub/shower; installed new ceiling and light; installed new plumbing and moved heating duct. Very happy with work and worker. Came for estimate on date and time arranged. Started worked on time and completed it in a timely manner. Very good at containing dust and debris; always cleaned up after self each day. Will be calling them next year to see if they do decks.
