CNY REMODELING INC

I had gotten multiple quotes to do the job and ended up going with CNY Remodeling because a co-worker recommended them. They definitely weren't the cheapest... the other 3 quotes averaged $55-$60/hr for the labor. CNY Remodeling quoted $85/hr. The workmanship was excellent. It took about a week to complete. I appreciated that they cleaned up the work site at the end of each day. They also made sure to start and end each day going over with me what had been done, what was left to do and answering any questions I had; very professional.

Overall I was extremely pleased with the workmanship and results. The doorway was very well done. Sump pump does not run during this season so unable to adequately judge work yet; time will tell if step repair holds up; looks ok. Disappointed in clean up in basement but otherwise excellent job. Will call them first if I have a need in the future.

My home is about 25 years old. The rear overlooks the Seneca River and is virtually all glass. One of the windows I had replaced was a large three pane Anderson casement, overall size about six feet square. It had severe dry rot on the window mouldings and jambs, and the sill had been repaired previously. The other window (a two pane overall size four by six feet) was in somewhat better shape, although it had deterioated to the point where opening and closing it was a two person job.

I had three similiar windows replaced previously. A major complication is that Anderson no longer makes a window of this height - the closest one is about six inches shorter. So replacing is more than just pulling the old window out and popping in a new one. The rough opening had to be reframed and both the interior (drywall) and exterior (siding) surfaces patched.

Kevin and his crew did their usual meticulous job. From laying down the dropcloths every morning to sweeping the garage every night, experience and care were evident. We have used Kevin previously for deck building, bathroom remodeling, and window replacement. Neighbors have also used him for basement remodeling and custom cabinet work. I would not hesitate to recomment Kevin in any of these areas.
