They were on-time in all cases, efficient and speedy in their job. The first time one of the windows provided was the wrong size despite them having measured it. Once I got a hold of the manager of the office, they did fix it at their cost, although initially, were trying not to. Sending pictures of the 2 inch gap and getting the manager were key. The result was that I was satisfied with the final job. I did hire them again to replace a window that the double paned sealant broker and I needed a new window. They were very efficient in the replacement and cleaned up after themselves well despite having to break the original glass to do the replacement.

I cannot recommend this company more highly. My first interaction was with Bruce (the owner) several months ago. He initially came to assess all the windows in my apartment which were decades old and in need of repair. Initially, my thought was to repair the windows and replace 2 storm windows that had broken during recent severe weather. When Bruce arrived he took measurements and answered my many questions about replacing the windows vs. repairing them. I felt his advice was given 100% with my best interests at heart and not at all in a way that was intended to upsell me into replacing my windows. We both agreed that my existing windows were in sad shape and not very energy efficient.

Bruce thoroughly inspected the windows and frames and pointed out several rotting pieces of wood that would have to be replaced and which were presently causing gaps around my windows where heat and air conditioning were escaping (which solved the mystery of why my windows were so drafty). By the time he was finished, I still had not made up my mind about whether to replace or repair my windows. I asked Bruce to give me estimates both ways.

Over the next several weeks there were many communications (mostly in the form of emails) between Bruce and I discussing options, prices, and still much needed advice. Bruce was very patient and kept saying that he wanted me to be comfortable with my choice. He was true to his word and in the end made an agreement with me that took out several unknown variables in order to give me a firm, set price (there are many variables such as the degree to which wood is rotted and needs to be replaced, the difficulty of capping
/wrapping old window frames, etc that you sometimes can't know until you have started the job). Because of Bruce's willingness to work with me, I made the decision in the end to replace all windows, replace wood as needed and have the exterior frames wrapped with metal.

While I knew it was the right decision, I was still a little uneasy because I had not started with the set idea of changing the windows and braced for the cost of doing such...that was until the day they started the installation. Three very nice workmen came to my apartment and began the arduous task of removing the old windows and putting in the new. The minute I saw the first of the new quality windows in it's place, I immediately knew it was the right decision and that I owed a debt of gratitude to Bruce. It took an unexpected 3 days to install the windows and many unexpected things presented themselves (old windows were tarred-in in spots, frames were uneven and capping/wrapping much more time consuming, etc). Again, true to his word, Bruce and All About Windows just handled the
unexpected things as they arose and did a beautiful job of installation. I am now enjoying much more energy efficient, beautiful windows.

I should also mention that I am in the business of renovating houses in the DC area and have myself had dozens of windows replaced so I know what it looks like when done right. Bruce and company performed the task like the professional experts that they are. If you are looking to have anything done with windows or glass - I would highly recommend this company.

I reached out to them from the angle's list website. I received a response that day, saying they could do the job. I in turn said let's schedule it. This is where the time lagged as far as response time. I don't know if they were super busy, but it was a lot of back and forth to the point where I wasn't sure they were going to show up. The guys they sent, Melvin and Edison were great. They were professional, courteous and cleaned up after themselves. I will be contacting them for a bigger job.

We just moved into a new apartment which lacked screens on all the windows. In addition, several of the windows wouldn't stay open, sagged unevenly, and didn't close properly. The folks at All About Glass were friendly, courteous and professional from the very first call through to the end. The new screens are perfectly sized and the repaired windows work like new. Really great to work with.

I used All About Glass to repair my 20+ year old windows in a high-rise Jersey City apartment building. Replaced one glass, and cleaned and fixed 3 windows in total.
Excellent service and everyone I dealt with is very professional. Bruce (the owner) actually knows everything you could imagine about glass/windows etc.
Last but not least, a week after everything was done they called and told that there was an error in the calculation (we originally priced something that eventually haven't had to be done) and that THEY OWE ME money. Check arrived in mail next day. You don't see this kind of attitude these days.
I would definitely recommend them to everyone and use them again myself.

I thought it was ridiculous that they were going to charge a $175.00 fee just to come out and give me a quote and with no work being done.
Response from All About Glass & Windows, Inc

"Hello, I am so sorry that you were obviously upset about our policy of charging a service fee. However, as this rating is designed to allow other consumers to make an informed decision, I would like to clear up a few items: •Our service fee is based a number of factors, one of which is the distance from our location. Our service fee in Astoria is $95.00 not $175.00. I cannot be sure where the $175.00 figure came from since we rarely would give a service fee that high. The actual service fee is disclosed up front and we explain that the service fee is deducted from the job price if the customer does the work. •In most cases if a customer is willing to provide us with some pertinent information, a free phone quote can be given. •95 % of the time our services are retained once we go out to evaluate a job, and the service fee ends up being deducted from the job cost, becoming a non-issue. •Since you were not willing to pay the service fee, we never had an appointment to do any work. Therefore there should not be any entry in job date or any entry in promptness etc on the rating form. With the cost of operating a business continually rising (gasoline, insurance, labor, parking tickets etc) most customers agree that a reasonable service fee that is deducted from the job cost is a fair method of allowing us to offset some of the cost of dispatching a truck to look at a job, when a free phone quote is not possible. I am sorry that you were so dissatisfied with our policy but that does not make us not prompt, unprofessional, or otherwise worthy of an "F". We truly strive to make all our customers satisfied, and would welcome the opportunity to work with you in the future if you ever need us."

Richie made the appointment for a repairman to measure the window and said the window would be ready two days later. On the day of the appointment, someone called to say the repairman was on his way. He shows up and takes measurements. He accepts a check for $100 down payment. Richie calls later to say they prefer cash or cc, which is fine. Again, two days later, someone calls to say the repairman is on his way. Half hour later he shows up and spends a half hour replacing the window. He also took away the old glass. Thanks, All About Glass, for the pleasant expenence. I would use them again

I spoke to Richie by telephone and described my problem. My vinyl windows would not stay open. He told me I needed new balances and that there would be a $150 estimate fee which would be deducted from the final total if I agreed to have the work done David showed up at the appointed time. I received a call 30 min. in advance to notify me that he was on his way which i appreciated. He took the measurements and I was called by Richie the next day with a price which I agreed to. David and his associate, also David, showed at the appointed time again after calling me ahead of time to tell me they were on their way. The two men were very knowledgeable, professional and personable. They were very efficient and cleaned up after themselves.
