The Gym

unfortunately, i had pre-paid sessions for private sessions. my membership was closed immediately. i was promised a cash refund for three of my sessions and the remainder of the sessions would be looked into. it is now August 16th. i never did receive any cash refund. i have had to settle for spa credits and i am still waiting for "the management" to get back to me on the last $210.00 in question. in total, i will have a little over $800.00 in spa credits to use at the Equinox and not a penny in cash back (as promised). i have repeatedly contacted them over the past two + months and it drags on and on. it is a super gym/fitness center and i was an active member for many years. the trainers are good and some are even close to great. there are many machines and tons of classes. i would caution anyone about diving into buying packages of training sessions if you are unsure if you will use them all. and, a warning. there is an "assumption" yes! the actual phrase used by one of the managers, that the sessions will be used within a year's time. later on i was told by another manager that i had signed an agreement stating so-they never did produce this piece of paper. do=stand up for yourself and speak up. i was given different answers by different people. do=keep records. i emailed my messages. when they made false claims about what they had said in writing. do=cancel your appointments by text with your trainers, etc. their record keeping isn't that good. i could prove additional sessions due me by showing i had cancelled in time via text msg. do=keep after them for what is due to you. that is how they wear you down. enjoy the club but try to avoid the management side of the business.

I use it all the time. I love it. It is a very good facility. It is the only gym in town.

I go 4 times a week to The Gym. They charge a monthly fee and they have tons of good equipment and classes. You walk in and there is a basketball court and there is a steam and sauna and there are bicycles and weights and there is an area where you can buy outfits. It is clean, efficient and you never have to wait for a machine. The staff is pleasant.
