Jake Fronckowiak

We hired Jake almost immediately after the flooding from Hurricane Irene drained from our basement (September 2011). He helped us demolition the entire first floor, covered all irreparable floors with plywood, sheetrock all walls, and paint all first floor rooms. The problem with Jake is that he was unprofessional. Twice, on separate occasions, he allowed his personal life to affect his work. The first time he spent three (unpaid) days on his cell phone trying to work out his relationship in my backyard rather than working. The second time, several weeks later - new relationship, he began showing up late and once not at all. When my husband left a message about his unexpected absence, Jake returned the call drunk. He was rude and belligerent, hanging up on me. We fired him that night. Unfortunately for us, he was approximately two weeks from done when this happened. We finished the final coat of paint on the stairwell walls and all of the trim which delayed our return to our home by an additional month, which, after having been displaced from our home for five months, was a hardship. Jake worked for us a total of 13 weeks and 1 day of the 14th. We will not hire Jake again and will not recommend him. The quality of his work does not offset his lack of professionalism.
