Description of Work: Was hired to install a new boiler. Gave an estimate, not a bid, never described the product to be installed and was fired off the job after stealing a heat exchanger from the basement. Another contractor was hired to finish the installation. All natural gas lines were unsafe, in properly installed and had to be completely removed and reinstalled. The boiler leaked, had to be drained, repaired and refilled. Wiring was never finished or done correctly. He did not know how to hook up the second zone and wiring is not to currant code. Boiler is not level, and stove pipe was not installed and secured as per code. When he drained the old boiler, he dumped all the 30 year old water on the basement floor, when this basement is also a garage and he could have hooked up a garden hose and drained the water outside. The basement still stinks and has white residue on the floor. This contractor took huge advantage of a single mother who as a first time homeowner had trusted him to do a good job at a fair price. There is also a possibility that used parts might have been used to. What he represented was not what was installed. If he had told her I am going to install the wrong size, cheapest, most inefficient boiler, wrong, unsafe, and steal from your basement.... He never would have been hired. Upon seeing the huge mess he created, we asked for an itemized bill so we could see how he justified his "estimate". There are things on there that are not on the boiler. He cheated her on every aspect of this job. The worst workmanship I have ever seen, unsafe and possible illegal gas line installation, and stole a heat exchanger that had nothing to do with the furnace. This man is a liar, a thief, and completely incompetent as a boiler technician.
