Affordable HVAC Service

To put my review in context, I know more about heat pumps than 99.9% of consumers (likely more than some professionals)... Barrington is an experienced and responsive HVAC tech, and he is a pleasure to have around when your HVAC system needs some work. When I called to tell him that my heat pump had failed, he offered to come around the same day as he thought I had lost heat in the middle of December (I did have backup heat installed in the system, but it shows his thoughtfulness). I'm not going to say he'll be able to wave a wand and fix everything first time, that's not realistic for anyone. However over the past 6 years, Barrington has done two pieces of work for me diagnosing & fixing the issues correctly both times. Thus, the 5 stars on my review apply to both jobs. Based on the jobs he's done for me, I trust him to do a good job at a fair price. The company name is "Affordable HVAC Service", it is not "Cheap HVAC service", but I don't want cheap, I want fair priced - the HVAC tech has to earn a living too! Barrington will be my go to guy for any future problems or improvements, and I recommend him for yours.

He was excellent. He found that the company who had fixed it two years ago put in the wrong piece. He replaced it and got it done in 20 minutes. He was a good find. I would use them again and would highly recommend them.

Barrington White is a consummate professional. We are trying to extend the life of our air conditioner for about a year. We were so fortunate to find Mr. White on Angieslist. He responded immediately to our request by phone. He came to look over the air conditioner within days of his phone call to us; He was at our home exactly at the time he said. He inspected our A/C, checked the filter and went into the attic. He adjusted the thermostat because the A/C was not cooling as it should. He also added Freon which is very expensive. The A/C now works beautifully. This is the HVAC man that you want for A/C repair. He also sells A/C units. His pricing was also reasonable. Can you tell I am very happy with my new HVAC person?

We were not getting any heat on the second floor. Barrington inspected our heating system and provided us with with two options of fixing the problem. He is very knowledgeable and professional in terms of his service. He added a second zone and installed a valve that improved the pressure of our heating unit. After his work was completed, we had no problems in getting heat on the second floor. We really appreciate his service and were completely satisfied with the work he performed. He will continue to call Barrington in the near future for any work with our heating unit.

I spoke to Barrington on Sunday about getting a tune up for my boiler and he gave me an appointment for the very next day. Barrington arrived on time and inspected my boiler and the hot water heater. He told me that the boiler was in good condition and really didn’t need a tune up, but the hot water heater needed to be repaired because it had a leak and needed a gas shut off valve. I really appreciated what he did because he was honest and very professional. He explained to us what he was going to do and gave us a fair repair price. He also explained in detail our heating system and answered all of our questions. My wife and I were extremely happy with his service and professionalism. I will definitely call Barrington again for any other service repair needed and will recommend him to my family and friends.

He arrived at the time and date promised. He started out by putting down clean drop cloths on my floors. He walked around my house showing me and soliciting comments as to how he was going to proceed with the installation. His workmanship is top notch, he is a HVAC professional. I am very happy with his work and can recommend him without hesitation.

We also had the same experience as our friend and were very pleased with the entire job. We highly recommend this company to our family and friends without hesitation.

The process is fast!  They traced the pipe to were the leak occurred and it was repaired and seal in less than two hours.

Barrington was prompt to our estimate meeting.  He walked me through the details of the systems that he sells and the pros/cons for each model.  We discussed placement of the inner and outer units and what would be most effective for my space.  Throughout our meeting Barrington was patient with my questions and attentive.  He gave me a fair price for the unit and installation and left without a deposit as my wife was not yet home.
After calling back two hours later and letting Barrington know that I was ready to offer, he really impressed me.  Barrington offered to install the unit three days from our initial meeting, as he had the unit in stock and the availability in his schedule.  I did not have to wait, which was huge as I was actively renovating the basement.
On the day of install Barrington and his helper were on time, clean and respectful of my home, and professional.  He walked me through the install and made sure that I was comfortable with all of the steps.  The installation went smoothly, and three hours later my ductless unit was up and running.
I suppose the best endorsement that I can give is that I have already recommend Affordable HVAC to my father, and will continue to recommend and use this company in the future.  Top notch.

We recently bought a new home in the S Huntington area. Our last home had gas heat so we didn't really get involved much with annual,boiler cleanings, tuneups.
I know we wanted our boiler to be all set for the winter so started googling around for an HVAC type guy. There weren't THAT many reviews around..and the few I saw, looked a bit fake to me somehow. At that point I decided to join Angie's list because we are going to need a lot of different types of work done to our new home.
In any case I stumbled on Affordable Hvac Service and read some great reviews about the owner Barrington. Maybe it was his extra certification that made me call him. In any case he's a REALLY nice guy, very neat..seems to really know what he is doing..and I FELT the man is just somehow very honest. He did our tuneup and cleaning and there was no mess like I used to get way back in another home we used to own every time we serviced our burner.  Barrington was just a very pleasant guy who seems to REALLY know what he's doing and I will definitely use him again. He explained a few things about my boiler and water heater to me..even told me how to do some maintenance on my own.
I will be using Barrington again for any Boiler or Central AC needs we may have down the road.

too.It was difficult to run the refrigerant lines as the space was tight, but Mr. White got the job done in one day as promised.   As usual, his work was neat, and professionally done- he removed all of the old equipment.  He installed a new Bryant 2-1/2 ton central system and it is working well.  I have used him at least three times now and am very happy with his work.  I recommended him to friends that have all been happy too.  Wouldn't hesitate to recommend him!  I had gotten other quotes as well and they were several thousands more- and they would have cleaned out the old refrigerant lines and reused them!

He was great. He was reliable and honest and knew exactly what he was doing. I would highly recommend him.

Excellent.  Mr. White gave me a quote on Tuesday and I gave him the job on Thursday to be installed that Friday.  Mr White showed up exactly when promised, performed the work in a professional workman like manner, disposed of all the old equipment and packaging material and we once again have working A/C! 
I had received estimates from several highly rated contractors from Angie's List.  Mr. White was the least costly for the condenser unit replacement- and was recommended by the person that had put in the air handler/coil 4 years ago that no longer does this kind of work.
He is a very nice man and made me feel very comfortable- he also has a four year education in HVAC. I would use him again and recommend him to anyone needing this kind of service.
