Our backyard was basically a muddy, blank canvas, with a few plants and a small tree. We wanted to extend our concrete patio out a bit and make the yard more functional for our small dog (who MUST run the perimeter each day, chasing squirrels and birds!), while also making it beautiful. We knew we wanted a lot of stone as mulch to keep the dirt factor low, and some pavers that would last. We met the Stonish team at the Home Show and had them come out for a quote. Their landscape designer, Sue, was terrific and really understood the issues we were having and what we wanted. The first design was absolutely gorgeous and perfect, but over our budget. We worked with her to scale back a bit and change some materials and came up with a perfect plan. It only took about 6 weeks to get on the calendar for the work, which was great because we were also replacing our fence and needed that done first (plus the weather was cold and terrible later than expected). The job took a little longer than expected but that's partly due to weather. The team was great - all very friendly and respectful of our neighbor (with whom we share a driveway). They were very thoughtful in the execution of the job, especially the Cambridge pavers which are expensive (and require a several step process to install), but really gorgeous. We also used "rock bond" in a few places and we just love how it looks (like pebbles, but it's a solid surface, not loose). It will definitely solve our "mud everywhere" problem on the shady side of the house and it was a great recommendation by Sue as a cheaper alternative to pavers all the way around the concrete. The plants Sue chose are beautiful and the stone mulch is better than I even hoped! We have pebbles around the perimeter (for the dog race track!) and larger stones around the plants and tree. Sue chose plants that would bloom at various times across the seasons, ensuring we always have something pretty to look at. I can't wait to see how it all fills in over the years. We have 2 annual beds also that we can add color and variety to each spring. The team came up with good solutions to small problems (differences in yard height, water pooling, etc) and found us more pavers overnight when I wanted to add just a bit to that section. They also brought us extra mulch for the front beds which was great so I didn't have to go buy that separately. These led to an increase in price over the estimate, but we expected that when we made the changes. We can't wait to buy new outdoor furniture and start enjoying our yard! I highly recommend working with Stonish.

They were very responsive to my call for establishing the service and were great about doing the gutters.  Very professional and personable on the phone.  A pleasure to deal with.  My neighbors complimented their mowing service.

Overall we are very pleased with the results. Larry has a good eye with plantings and is a great listener. When there was a question outside of the written quote, he would clarify via phone or text.
In the front are seven new plantings and a reestablishment of a garden border.
In the backyard, eight to ten bushes and vines were pulled out at the root and removed. Day lilies were thinned and replanted. The garden borders were straightened and the entire garden mulched. In a day and a half the work was complete.
The price was higher than another highly graded Angie's List provider, but the wait time between quote and implementation was exactly what was promised in the initial conversation. Given all the rain we had this summer, they were only a half a day behind schedule. That was totally worth it for us. I will use Stonish's again and more this year.

Stonish's responded to my email request for a call and estimate almost immediately.  They arrived more than on time (early!), and assessed my situation. We discussed ballpark pricing to assure neither of us would waste each other's time, and I agreed to a full estimate - which came in right where we had spoken of.

They called to advise me of two possible dates of service, weather-dependent.  They arrived the 2nd of those date on account of rain the first date, at commenced work by 9 am.  They were friendly, helpful, diligent, and gone by the time I returned home four or five hours later, work completed.

I had asked a favor of Larry Stonish, asking if he could help me identify another invasive weed (not the one I contracted his help with).  He did follow up with me, indicating he was not able - with help from certified staff at area nurseries - to identify it, but gave me steps to follow up (allow it to mature more, then take to a nursery), and suggested use of a selected weed control agent, all the same.

The workers came in and cleared the front and back yard of all debris left from a few years of neglect. They replaced some dead bushes and made the place look respectable. They maintained the lawn for the summer all summer and we were happy to take the worry away from my aunt for a great service for a great price.

We have them out every week. They mow the lawn in the summer and do the snow in the winter. They are very reliable. They are here when they say they are going to be here and they do what they say they are going to do. They are very good. We haven't compared their price to other lawn companies.

They are very punctual. When he says he's going to do something he does it. It's timely and done well.
