"Hello Becky W, thank you for you feedback. We are a full service company that engages in design, planning, material supply, and labor for residential and commercial projects. We have architects on staff, electricians, plumbers and design professionals as well. We also have extensive material knowledge in regard to quality, logistics, and value. Yes you're correct it is our policy to qualify projects in order to give the best possible results to our clientele, while being respectful of our time and yours. Not every project is a fit for us, and in order to determine that we have specific information we gather to best serve you and your needs. You also told our staff that it's a duplex, the location of the project and that you don't live in Buffalo. Already falling into a category of a project we would likely not do because our quality, skill, knowledge and expertise tells us all we need to know. We don't engage in budget projects in which individuals have unreasonable expectations, and unreasonable budgets. As you stated in your feedback, we do work for people that have reasonable expectations and budgets. A standard complete kitchen renovation with quality materials, labor and expertise is between 40-60k, add structural work and the cost goes up. It's very unlikely a duplex owner would ever spend that on a project for a complete kitchen renovation as you called it because its a poor financial decision with no actual return on investment. It would take many years to recover that investment. As you stated, yes we have worked for professional athletes, and we work for many custom home builders in the area, and around the nation. Our experience is extensive, and very dialed in to reality. A complete kitchen renovation means nothing to us, or any skilled professional in regard to what it defines as scope of work. As far as the questions asked yes they were probably things you have never been asked because that is our experienced staff doing more than the average to help people through a very dynamic and strenuous process. Also, many people have no idea what they want when they call, needing a lot of attention and help designing and planning, which we love to do. 1. We asked how long you have owned the house, it's age, and what has been done to the structure since ownership. 2. We ask what your plans are for the house, whether you're just renovating in preparation fora sale, staying for 5 years, or staying for 20 plus years. 3. These factors determine what you should commit to a project financially. There is much more benefit to the homeowner who plans to renovate a space and stay there for 20 years or longer versus someone who plans to sell in spring or in the next 2 years and move to Florida. So spending 125k in either of those situations either makes great sense or is completely ridiculous. 4 Yes, your age matters, because if you are planning to stay for the long haul and you're 50, then great, you will enjoy many years of benefits and problem free living with great materials in your well planned, perfectly built space, if you're 80, well your long haul isn't likely to be that long at all. So spending 125k doesn't make as much sense to you now does it? These are all reasonable concepts, that reasonable people with life experience will appreciate. You would the first person to complain about actually being treated fairly for you're own benefit. This is why we qualify people before we ever agree to meet, it's why we hand select who we work for, it's what best serves our brand, our reputation, our relationships and fosters our success.
