Dr. Shapshay is immaculate in his manner and reassuring. He performs videofibroscopies deftly, and there was no clumsiness. He explained things in great detail, and I felt that I was in the hands of a true professional.
Description of Work: I had been sick for a little while, and then lost my voice. Since I am a professional voice user, I wanted to make sure my vocal folds were all right. Drs. Shapshay and Galati specialize in voice/throat disorders, and I felt that one of them would be the right doctor to see.

My to strongest recollections are 1. Dr. Parnes' manner which I covered enough above; and 2. During the coblation he wanted to get to deeper nasal tissues on the right side. When a turbinate bone was interferring, he just rared back and punched his probe through the bone. The nasal tissues which he damaged have finally begun to heal nearly two years after his "treatment."
Description of Work: Referred by another practitioner for chronic nasal congestion. Dr. Parnes is, without peer, the rudest, most arrogant, professional I have ever been a patient of. He had a new instrument, a "coblater" which reduces swelling in nasal tissues by killing the cells. He seemingly would use this for any malady that came before him. When I asked why he wanted to use this for my night-time congestion, he angrily snapped "It'll help you" and ducked out the door. He never asked any questions about my malady or my tendency to form scars. He then damaged many tissues, and also bone that interferred with his device. Nearly two years later, the tissues are only now healing, and until a couple of months ago were in far worse condition than before going to his office. My recommendation to anyone with any malady: avoid this man like the plague. There are many other doctors with at least the same skills, and certainly more understanding and congeniality.

Dr. Mouzakes was very good at explaining to us the need for the removal of my 3 yr old's adenoids and tonsils. When I had questions after the office visit or after the surgery, I emailed him, and he responded surprisingly quickly (within hours). He is very friendly and great with kids, and his staff is professional. The surgery went well, and my daughter's health (asthma and general immunity) improved significantly. Dr. Mouzakes is quite booked, though -- it took us over a month to get an appointment and then over two months to book the surgery. I trusted him, though, and felt that the wait was worth it.

He is technically very good but he has a very poor bedside manner. You put up with his bedside manner if you need his expertise.

He is very knowledgeable. He is very professional. My son's tube was put in within 5 minutes from start to finish. He has a really amazing bedside manner with kids. The kids loved him even though it was pretty traumatic. His nurse is the most amazing human being I have ever met in my life. I can't say enough good things about him. He is called as the god of E.N.T. He is just amazing.
Description of Work: I took my kids to Dr. Mouzakes for E.N.T care. He did tubes on one of my sons.
