It was a small job and I was patient waiting. There was no real hurry and I feel that the horrible weather we have been having in this area would put any outdoor contractor behind schedule. Eventually I got a call and the Contractor was there the very next day as promised. They did a really fine job and I certainly will keep them in mind for my next project. I also had other estimates and found this Contractor to be the most reasonable.

I would recommend this company for work. They were 25% less than the other bids I received. There are advantages to working with a small business. Bob (the owner) was very flexible, professional, and nice to work with. It's refreshing to have the person that does the estimate to actually do the work. For our job, we did not schedule an exact date for the work (because that wasn't important for us), but Bob did give us 1-2 days notice before the work was to begin and had it started withing a few weeks of the and quot;go aheadand quot; call.
Our driveway was somewhat difficult due to the house being almost perfectly level with the road. We did have an issue with the grading/drainage of the driveway when it was originally laid down, however Bob immediately recognized the issue with a call after our first rain. It's very easy for contractors in this business to just walk away from issues, especially after payment. We worked together to come up with a viable solution, and Bob was able to regrade the driveway to better fit the drainage. The end result looks good and is exactly as we both agreed on. We're very happy with the end result.

Called an left a message for an estimate, Bob Allen contacted me that evening. We scheduled a date for the estimate, I ended up having to change it and he was very accommodating. I have a 180 foot driveway w/ 3 car garage and the job entailed removing the old driveway, widening a parking section by 6 feet, regrading, applying a binder coat and finally a top coat. Bob's price was $2k less than the other two estimates. Bob was able to put me into the schedule within 3 weeks of that estimate. They showed up on time exactly when he said. He initially thought it would take 3 days, but was able to complete it in 2 due to the extremely dry weather that we had been having. Very satisfied with the job and so glad I didn't go with the higher estimates.

I called 4 A rated contractors. One contractor never called back and two contractors wanted to put a 2 inch layer of pavement right over the old driveway for a little less than what R.J. Allen was asking to dig up the old drive, backfill and pave the driveway with 3 inches of pavement. Bob was friendly and professional and I would use him again.

I have a 500+ foot driveway that 2/3rds of which was unpaved gravel. After Bob and I agreed on an cost to do the job, he put me in the schedule and my driveway was paved within two weeks. It took them no more to pave the entire thing. Everything was nice and level, dense, beveled edges and looks great. Everything was very neat and clean after they were completed with the job and there was virtually no evidence on my grass or otherwise that they had even been there. Bob was a very nice and professional business man. Apparently he and his father had been doing this for a long time and I've always appreciated honest family-run small businesses. The price quoted was exactly what I paid. I have zero complaints and look forward to using their business again next year to finish off my entire driveway.
