They are a franchise. They absconded with my money and did bad work. It has taken me months and I’ve had the police and everyone else involved. They have had complaints and the Attorney General is after them. I checked everywhere and they had good ratings so I thought I was safe. It has been nothing but a nightmare. I hired them in December and I had no lights at Christmas. I spent Christmas in bed over them. They took my money and American Express had to go after them for $15,000. The police had to go after them. When I checked online the person they had working for them had been involved in the same type of operation. The State Attorney General went after them. When I spoke to the owner, he did nothing about it. They also work under Adams & Associates. They get you in under the Mr Handyman franchise, which is supposedly a reputable franchise, and once they get you in, they tell you that you need all kinds of things such as a new roof because you have mold. The contract comes in under Adams & Associates or another name. They have had different names over the years and they are still in business. They are the largest Mr Handyman franchise. They supposedly told me that the man has been fired. My son and husband had just died and they took advantage of my grief. I spent $700 because of the mold situation they told me I had. What I have is what everybody else has. They have different crews. Their prices for the franchise are fine but I know that going in. They gave me an estimate for $25,000 for the other work but what they were going to put in was not what was on the contract. I went to the people who were authorized to sell it and they said there was no way that they could install what they said they were going to install because they are not authorized to sell it. I would stay away from them unless you have a lot of money that you want to lose. The owner had numerous times to rectify the situation but he never did. He said he would install the windows that were in the contract but he kept stalling and stalling. The contract was open-ended. The guy said he was going to take care of me and boy did they. The work was supposed to be done in two weeks. He wanted over 60 percent down on over $15,000 and thank God I pulled my American Express card out instead of writing a check. I just needed some small work done and I wanted somebody that I could trust. I had hired them because I thought they were reputable and bonded. They do small jobs and they charge $89 per hour. They keep changing their name.
