I've used main care for my apartments for 10 years. They recently hired a new salesman Scott Rockwell. Who basically gave me a one-week notice before they picked all 7 tanks on Halloween leaving all my tenants without heat. There are much better propane companies out there if you're looking. Stay away from Main-Care Energy!

Main Care is one of the best companies I work with for anything household heating and the only one I will work with from now on. No matter when I call my concern is handled immediately and a real human answers the phone (even on a Sunday holiday). Their prices are great their customer service is even better. 10 stars out of 5!

We purchased a whole house generator from them. They sent one guy who stood in the driveway smoking and complaining how he should have someone there to help. He shimmied the generator out of the truck and it slammed onto the ground. For two years it didn’t work properly. They finally fixed it after numerous calls and complaints. They missed our propane auto delivery. While on winter vacation the fuel ran out, the furnace stopped working and our pipes froze.

I am totally appalled by the main care energy oil delivery personal "patsy" as he identified himself , driver of oil truck 89 today, came into our yard across the gate, USED the gate as a cover and STARTED TO PEE ON OUR WALKWAY!!!! I went out there to make sure that gate was open for the delivery person, because it has been finicky, and I ended up seeing FULL frontal private part of an ugly old guy. Does that constitute public lewedness??? isn't it criminal activity to flash someone in their own back yard??? LOOK AT THE PHOTO, SEE THE SPLATTER MARK NEAR THE GATE ON THE CONCRETE, THAT'S THE GUYS PEE!!!! OUR DOGS HAS BEEN SNIFFING THE AREA FOR A WHILE NOW, SO GOD KNOWS HOW MANY TIMES THIS GUYS DONE THIS IN THE PAST. We trust the company to deliver the oil, give them access to our property so that they can do what they need to do, and THIS is what they do??? OUR HOUSE IS NOT A PUBLIC REST ROOM! UNBELIEVABLE!!! REPORTED TO GUILDERLAND POLICE.

The service was excellent. The technicians were personable, reliable, and so helpful. They didn't have the part and my home was cold; the technician returned with two heaters. Will and Brandon are superb and so very professional. The service called to inform us they were on their way, therefore, we did not have a long wait time. The services were $300 less than a quote we received from a competitor and Main Care will be the service I call first from now on. Thank you to a great team.

I don't have anything bad to say about the company at all.  It's either 35 or 40 years I've been with them, or maybe it's 30 years.  They are very professional, quick, very clean, and nice quality name equipment.

I've been using Main Care for probably forty years.  I actually have a budget plan through them where they come and I have oil fired hot water and heat, so they clean the boilers and stuff.  And I have an air conditioning unit which they replaced two years ago for me. The cost comes all underneath my budget plan.  I pre-pay a yearly thing and it includes my oil propane and the cleaning and stuff.  They cost a little bit more, but I think it's well worth it.  They're very prompt and their service is fantastic.  I think you get what you pay for.  You want the best, you pay the most.  I guess for the hot water and the furnace, they normally spend two or two and a half hours.  The workers are very professional.

It cost nothing because I purchase a maintenance contract every year. Responsiveness was very good. They are home owned, very friendly and very responsive. The workers were very professional, clean and nice. ?I?ve used them for about seven years.

Generally, I've been happy with Main Care. They aren't that familiar with it. They don't carry parts for it. That has been a frustration for us to the point where we discontinued our service with Main Care. They did the job and they expressed their willingness to repair this particular brand. They also said they don't carry spare parts. We felt it wasn't acceptable to the standpoint of paying extra money for their service if in fact we have to end up waiting days for a part to come in. They do a fine job and they're a reputable company. I would recommend them. They didn't suit our needs when we changed our burner. We discontinued gold status because they didn't fully support the service of the new brand of burner we purchased.

I was on auto delivery for both oil and propane. They let my propane run out twice last year! I had to call them back twice for shoddy work performed on my oil fired boiler. They left the floor filthy and the boiler was only half assed cleaned. I reluctantly signed again this heating season only to find out they have only gotten worse. Same boiler issue. I had a silver service contract thrown in for free if  I agreed to sign.  They dropped their prices as well, only after I complained that they were gouging me. (we were on the budget plan) and there was a price cap. Well, they charged me the FULL CAP PRICE instead of the going price for propane and oil. I then got billed for the boiler cleaning service this season. I called and was told that I had no such "free" service. They in fact told me that if I did not pay for the cleaning, it would be forwarded to a collection agency. Also, We agreed on a capped price of $1.99 for propane and $2.79 for heating oil. I get my first propane delivery and see that they are charging me $2.29. I call and once again had to argue with them. They were very rude. Then mysteriously I stopped getting paper bills in the mail. I had not paid for two months before I caught the error. I called them and was told that "oh we sent you an email telling you that we are updating our website". That was BS as well. I probably have 25 emails going back and forth with them over issues. Finally I'm saying the h*** with it and I am in the process of locating a new supplier. BTW. I have a credit of over one thousand dollars that I have not used since this was a mild heating season. I get a bill in the mail two days ago for $171.80 for April  and then the same will be due in May finishing up my budget plan for this season. I called main care on Monday and asked why I should make these last two payments as they already owe me over a $1000 and that I am not renewing my contract. Just refund me the difference and we will sever our ties here in May. The receptionist put me on hold for 10 minutes or so why she talked to the manager. She came back on and said I needed to make these payments  as there would not be enough money in my budget plan for next year. I told her again that I was cancelling, not renewing for next year. She put me on hold again and came back five minutes or so later and told me that "the manager is not here and would call me back" Huh? So, here it is Wednesday 3/16/16 and no one has called me back. Looks like I will be contacting the BBB or Attorney general to get my balance back. I just have that feeling

... They said with the age of the house, they should be changed.  They also filled up the oil tank at this time.  The oil ran out, so we called for service.  They refused to come out and provide oil even though our account is paid up to date.  They stated we MUST have the lines changed and will not deliver until this is done.  How can this be???  This was just a recommendation and there is no code that says this has to be done .  After escalating this since I told them we have small child in the house they said they would come out and put 25-50 gallons of oil in the tank and had to service the system since the oil ran out... The tech that come out said there was no code that said we must do this immediately. How can they do this to a customer?
