It was a easy to work with them, and they finished the work faster than I was expecting. They also did everything they supposed to work great as a team and cleaned up after themselves.
The bathroom installers were great. They cleaned up after themselves before they left for the day. They replaced the tub/shower are and installed a tile floor. They told me how long I needed to wait before going in to paint the hard to get once the sink and commode are installed places. They also told me that I could paint the trim before it was installed. I was very busy after they left and before they returned! When I poked my head in to watch their progress, they answered my questions and gave me progress reports. They were very professional and made sure that everything was done to my satisfaction.
The windows and bathroom look great! I definitely recommend them.
I spent the better part of a year researching companies and obtaining quotes for vinyl siding on our bungalow. After researching Comfort windows, including using Angie's list, we set up an appointment to meet with their salesman in February 2013. He came on a Saturday and was very personable and knowledgeable about the product and went into detail about the service they provide and what we could expect. We decided to work with Comfort and placed our order. At the end of March 2013, we were notified by the company that they were ready to install and we agreed they would start April 1, 2012. They sent two-three men and it took two weeks to install the siding. During the course of the two weeks, one rose bush was trampled and one lawn ornament was broken. We did not complain about that as it is a small house and room to move around is tight, so we took the hit on those. The job was completed by 4/12/13 and we paid in full. Two weeks later we noticed the siding lifting above the bathroom window. I called Comfort and they apologized and made an appointment to send someone out. The very same day I made this call, I came home from work to find a piece of siding had fallen off the very peak of the house and was now on my front lawn. My husband called that night, again received an apology. They sent the same installer out and he told my husband they "forgot" to nail that piece in but we should be all set now. Two weeks after this, the siding lifted up above the back door. Another telephone call. Same installer back again. Approximately three weeks after this, during a light rain, my husband sees something fall in the driveway. He goes outside and finds a piece of siding has fallen off the peak of the dormer on our house and insulation is now dropping down out of corner pieces. Now I was livid. I called the company, did not want another apology and advised I wanted them to send someone to my home who knew what they were doing and not the person who installed it. I wanted my home checked from top to bottom. Three repairs in 11 weeks is totally unacceptable.
They scheduled an appointment for Thursday morning which means I took a 1/2 day off from work. Thursday morning comes and I get a telephone call that they have to reschedule and they would like to do it for the following Monday. I was furious and demanded a Saturday appointment. She assured me they would send a Manager out Saturday to speak with us and make repairs. Saturday comes and the manager and worker show up. My husband loses his temper and starts to yell. Comfort manager informs us he does not have to be there, doing us a favor, etc. etc. I calm my husband down and proceed to discuss my issues with Comfort guy. He and worker go over the house and I hear pounding. When done, he assures me they I should not have any other problems. Now, I wait and see and cringe every time it rains.
Side story: Last year my next door neighbor had her house sided by a no name guy with a beat up truck and two teenage helpers. She has not had a problem with her siding at all. Me, the little worker ant, who does all the research gets the above. All my neighbors think this is hysterical to the point that they now have a pool going to see which piece of my siding is going to fall off next. Yup, it's a fun summer in the neighborhood.
The window is great, opens and closes with ease and the family room was much warmer this winter
In 2011 I had the energy assessment performed to determine if there was any cold leaking in through the doors, window or attic. The roof would accumulate ice during the winter and it was determined that the attic insulation was in adequate and the cold air from the attic was coming into the room through the pull down stairs. The insulation was installed as agreed, and the air test after the installation was complete showed that there were no cold air leaks and the room with the attic stairs no longer had cold air coming in through the stairs. We have not had enough snow yet since the insulation was installed to determine if there will be less ice on the roof. The cost of the insualtion was $1500.
At the beginning of the summer of 2012 i started to investigate adding a sun room. I called Comfort and they came over and showed me the various options available, took me to see a completed sun room, and really helped me design the perfect room. The room is prefabricated and was delivered a couple weeks before the work started. I also obtained estimates from other companies , but they did not spend the time to properly design a room for me.
Once they started to dog the footings, it was determined that the room needed to be moved over 2 feet. New footings were dug, and to make a long story short, Comfort had to remove my sliding glass door, install another single door, fix the dry wall, dig the holes twice, and they did a wonderful job through all of it. Of course i was a little aggravated when the plans had to change, but they made it right at no cost to me. They totally made it right, and also put dry wall in the room as well instead of leaving the siding on the inside wall against the house.
The sunroom installation took longer than originally planned for, as additional doors had to be ordered etc. The crew was awesome and did a beautiful job, the sales people stayed in touch with me throughout the project !
In the end, the room is more beautiful than I ever could have anticipated. Many thanks to Tim, Dom, Bob, John, and Joe for an awesome job and building a beautiful sun room on my house. Cant wait for spring and summer to come!
